Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the December 21 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

This week's program was the annual “Backyard Rocker” Christmas Holiday Special. We jam-packed two hours with holiday music originating from local and regional artists, including holiday standards and original holiday compositions. Because Christmas inspires different musicians in different ways, we heard area musicians celebrate the holiday in a variety of styles and flavors; in addition to rock, we heard solo acoustic (Sterling Koch) and piano (David Single, Zupe); jazz (Dave Single Trio), swing (D.C. and Co.), bluegrass (Kris Kehr and the Old Timers) and more. We also explored Christmas' not so happy side through music from Clashing Plaid, Roadkill and Busted Monkey. And we heard several new holiday recordings for this year's special, courtesy of The Chickz, Clashing Plaid and Condition K. Also, several lucky listeners won CD prize packs, loaded with CD's from Soundrive, Poker Face, Skell, Emily's Toybox, Axum, Felix & the Hurricanes, No Refill, Thunderbox, Bleech, Way Down East and more; T-shirts too! Wow, what a busy two hours!
