Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the January 4 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Our first guests of the New Year were, via phone, the Victory In Heaven Blues Band. Sterling Koch, Larry Baudoin and Frank Ciambra discussed the latest V.I.H. happenings, including their new live album, V.I.H. III: Live On A Mission From God. We heard numerous tracks from this exciting live album, recorded last March during a performance at the Blue Mountain Coffeehouse in Strausstown. Several lucky listeners also won copies of the CD. We flashed back to 1988 to catch a regional music memory from Billy Price & the Keystone Rhythm Band; and we heard new songs from Mike Dugan & the Blues Mission and Dave Blackledge.

This week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

WAY DOWN EAST - “Modern Day Outlaws”
MICHAEL REICH - “Line in the Sand”
V.I.H. - “Nothin' But the Blues”
MIKE DUGAN & THE BLUES MISSION - “My Brother From Another Mother”
V.I.H. - “Can't Judge A Book By Lookin' at the Cover”
FAT VINNY & THE WISEGUYS - “Folsom Prison Blues”
V.I.H. - “Everyday Will Be Like Sunday”
WHITEY NOLL w/JOE AGOGLIA - “Curtains and Clouds”
DAVE BLACKLEDGE - “Double PMS Blues”

HOUR TWO:

THE FLAME SKY - “Only In Your Head”
V.I.H. - “Before You 'Cuse Me”
BILLY PRICE & THE KEYSTONE RHYTHM BAND - “Slipped, Tripped, and Fell in Love” (1988, Local Music Flashback)
V.I.H. - “Change My Way of Livin'”
FELIX & THE HURRICANES - “Grow”
V.I.H. - “The Star Spangled Banner/Trouble Will Soon Be Over”
V.I.H. - “I've Never Been to Seminary”

This coming Sunday, Jan. 11, our guests will be Altoona-based musical adventurers, The Flame Sky. We will update this band's progression, as we hear new songs from the group's forthcoming album, and hear thoughts from the band members. The Flame Sky returns to the “Backyard Rocker,” this Sunday night!

Other forthcoming guests and specials include:

JAN. 11 – The Flame Sky (tentative)
