Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the June 25 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

The initial game plan was to have Lehigh Valley rockers Spitshine (www.spitshinemusic.com) stop by the Q94 studios the previous weekend to prerecord their interview when they were in the area for last weekend’s Relay For Life Band Jam benefit concert in Shade Gap, Huntingdon County. But crossed signals led to the band showing up at the Q94 downtown Altoona business offices, while the show’s host showed up at the studios (in another part of town). Not able to reach the show host via phone to find out where to go, Spitshine returned home. However, we were able to hook up with the band via phone later in the week, and featured the discussion this night, as we learned what was new with the group, and heard tunes from their two CD’s. We also debuted new tunes from Shades Of June and Doug Forshey.

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

ISSUES – “Run From the Shadows”
FLIGHT 19 – “Migraine”
SPITSHINE – “Satellite”
SHADES OF JUNE – “Not the One for Me”
SPITSHINE – “Mandalyn”
VS. THE EARTH – “Friend Zone”
SPITSHINE – “Fall Away”
GRANTHAM ROAD – “Wide Awake”
DOUG FORSHEY – “Crazy Gravity”

HOUR TWO:

KAIROS – “Synapse”
SPITSHINE – “Whisper”
MICHAEL REICH – “Century Man”
SPITSHINE – “I-H8-U”
FAYTED – “Senoritaville”
SPITSHINE – “No Good”
SPITSHINE – “Thorne”

Next Sunday night, we will recap the 10th annual Millennium Music Conference, which took place this past weekend (June 22-25) in Harrisburg. Over 200 bands and artists showcased throughout the Harrisburg area, and the conference also featured keynote addresses from former Fuel singer Brett Scallions and Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root, a trade show, seminars and panels, and more. We’ll give you the lowdown on what transpired during Millennium weekend in Harrisburg, feature sound clips from the conference, and music from some of the many bands and artists that showcased. A recap of the Millennium Music Conference, next Sunday night on the “Backyard Rocker.”

Forthcoming guests and specials include:

JULY 16 – Dave Blackledge
AUG. 6 – Cover Song Special w/Hair Force One
AUG. 13 – Nitekast
AUG. 27 – Fast Forward Special
OCT. 8 – Acoustic Jam Special 6

The “Backyard Rocker” is happy to announce its continued partnership with “The Underground TV,” the new local/regional music television show airing on WWCP-TV Fox 8 Saturday evenings at 6 PM, and now early Monday mornings at 1 AM on WATM ABC 23.
