Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the January 11 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Thanks to our guests this week, Altoona-based rock explorers The Flame Sky, for another interesting and informative two hours. Guitarist/singer Ed Brinkel, lead guitarist Jason Feathers, bassist Matt Burns and drummer Nate Woods have been recording tracks for a full-length album to be released later this year; we heard several new tracks from the forthcoming album, plus some live footage recorded during the past year. The musicians discussed how their music and live show have progressed since their formation as The Flame Sky Orchestra in the mid-90's, as well as how their audiences have developed since the beginning. Also along the way, we heard new music from C Minus Society, Images Of Eden, Seventh Hour and Acid Reflux.

This week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

ELECTRIC BLUE - “Feline Queen”
BLEECH - “Across the Tracks”
THE FLAME SKY - “So Much Left Undone”
C MINUS SOCIETY - “Realize”
THE FLAME SKY - “Woodcutter”
DEVIANCE - “Violated”
THE FLAME SKY - “And Eventually”
IMAGES OF EDEN - “Aladdin”

HOUR TWO:

SEVENTH HOUR - “Bled Through My Tears”
AXUM - “Abuse the Unhealthy”
ACID REFLUX - “Sphere”
THE FLAME SKY - “Only In Your Head”
THE FLAME SKY - “Stormy Monday”
JOHN CHARNEY w/WHITE MOJO - “I Put a Spell on You”
THE FLAME SKY - “Incident at Neshapur”

This coming Sunday, Jan. 18, our guests will be Altoona-based acoustic duo Rock'n'Rye. Formed from the ashes of Toddo, Greg Burley and Ryan Clark have been entertaining on area stages since last summer; we'll hear the duo perform several original songs and cover favorites live in the studio, and learn Rock'n'Rye's story to date. Rock'n'Rye visits the “Backyard Rocker,” this Sunday night!

Other forthcoming guests and specials include:

JAN. 25 – Super Bowl Widows' Special (hosted by Q94 2004 Calendar Girls)
FEB. 1 – Destroy Elroy
FEB. 8 – Suicide Switch
FEB. 15 – Wake Up Screaming
FEB. 22 – Right Side Thief
MAR. 7 - 6th Anniv. Special w/Felix & the Hurricanes
