Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the January 21 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

We had a doctor in the house this week! Thanks to our guest, Dr. Elaine Richardson, or as we came to know her over the course of the program, “Dr. E,” the voice and driving force behind Cleveland/State College-based R&B project Fleshcoat feat. Dr. E (www.giveusfreerecords.com). Dr. E gave us background and insight into her group and music career, and we heard numerous tracks from Fleshcoat’s CD Coat of Flesh. It was a fun and soulful two hours, as we also updated Local Music News and debuted new songs from Lowjack, Kat Rees and E.D. Ward. We also kept listeners updated on the score of the AFC Championship Game between New England and Indianapolis. Thanks again to Dr. E; we always appreciate guests who brave bad winter road conditions to be a part of the “Backyard Rocker!” It was a good time!

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

LOWJACK – “Poppa Bear”
FELIX & THE HURRICANES – “Walkin’ A Straight Line”
FLESHCOAT feat. DR. E – “Grown Folks’ Music”
KAT REES – “I’ll Never Know”
FLESHCOAT feat. DR. E – “Daytime Minutes”
SKYLA BURRELL BLUES BAND – “Dirt Poor”
FLESHCOAT feat. DR. E – “Losin’ It”
BILLY PRICE – “If You Cook Like You Walk”
E.D. WARD – “Gospel Truth”

HOUR TWO:

JACKSON MONSOUR – “Everybody Needs Love”
FAT VINNY & THE WISEGUYS – “5th Street”
FLESHCOAT feat. DR. E – “If We Choose To”
ORIGINAL SOUL PROJECT – “Smoke” (1997, Local Music Flashback)
FLESHCOAT feat. DR. E – “Sound of the Rain”
CRYSTAL CAMERON – “Stand”
FLESHCOAT feat. DR. E – “In Joy”
ANGEL BLUE & THE PROPHETS – “I’m Guilty”
FLESHCOAT feat. DR. E – “Back to Work”

Next Sunday night, our guests will be the Indiana-based rock band The Alluminati. We’ll meet the members of The Alluminati (formerly known as Faultline), and we’ll hear tracks from their forthcoming full-length CD Ashes. We’ll also hear from other area bands and artists, and review Good For Nothing’s CD, Welcome to the Carnival, in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” The Alluminati visits the “Backyard Rocker,” next Sunday night!
