Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the April 15 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Lots was happening on the “Backyard Rocker” this week, including the unveiling of some big news to kick off the program! Q94’s “Backyard Rocker,” playing everybody’s hometown music every week, is now sponsored by the Altoona Curve (www.altoonacurve.com), “Everybody’s Hometown Team!” As part of the partnership, we also announced that the “Backyard Rocker” will be sponsoring live bands and artists to perform on the “Party Deck” at Blair County Ballpark before the Curve’s Thursday home games this season. The first of those performances is this coming Thursday, April 19 – listen to Q94 for more details this week!

After announcing the big news, we welcomed our in-studio guests this week, Lewistown’s Rhyne McCormick (www.rhynemccormick.com, along with members from Rhyne’s new band project, Last Chance (www.myspace.com/lastchancemusicclub). We learned the latest from Rhyne and Last Chance, and the group performed several songs live on the air. Several lucky listeners won copies of Rhyne’s latest studio CD, Soul Dust, along with a special edition “best of” CD featuring music from Rhyne’s first two albums. We also aired an interview with Ed Murvine and Cathy Berg of Get Closer To The Music (www.getclosertothemusic.org), discussing the organization’s upcoming Music Festival event in Altoona on Saturday, April 28. And we played a new song from Justin Mack. Another busy week!
