Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the April 4 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Thanks to Eddie, Jarred, Phil and manager Jamie of Harrisburg's Evensong for journeying through early spring snow showers to be with us this week. We became acquainted with Evensong, and learned about their music, influences, live show, goals and more. We heard numerous tracks from the group's just-released self-titled debut CD, and several lucky listeners won copies. Along the way, we also debuted new songs from 3 Broken Dolls and Revolver.

This week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

SILVER SUNDAY - “Naked”
KATSU - “Walkaway”
EVENSONG - “Murmur”
AXUM - “Normal”
EVENSONG - “No-Star”
THE CLARKS - “Superstar”
EVENSONG - “Wildfire”
INFUSED - “Defused”
3 BROKEN DOLLS - “Walk Your Talk”

HOUR TWO:

THIRD STANDARD - “14 Days in a Bender”
POPTART MONKEYS - “7:30”
EVENSONG - “Good Morning Iris”
REVOLVER - “Don't Walk Away”
EVENSONG - “Underground”
DIRTY DOGZ - “Situation”
EVENSONG - “Melancholia”
EVENSONG - “Hypnotized”

This Sunday night, our guests will be Altoona's Infused. Infused has been recording towards their debut CD, expected out this spring; we'll hear tunes from the CD, and get inside the band, their music, live show and vision. Infused visits the “Backyard Rocker,” this Sunday night!

Other forthcoming guests and specials include:

APR. 18 - Deviance
APR. 25 – Emily's Toybox
MAY 2 – Dave Blackledge

In local music news this week:

Great news about two benefit shows that happened in the past several days. Last weekend's benefit for Bill Glasgow of the Smoke Run Band, which took place at the Ramey Firehall and featured the Smoke Run Band and Kyx, raised just under $5,000 to help Bill with his medical expenses. Bill was seriously hurt in a snow blower accident in January.

And this past Friday night at Glenn's Place in Claysburg, the 2nd annual Rockin' for a Cure benefit for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life was reportedly another huge success, with Hair Force One, Beyond Reason, Shift, The Rudys, and the debut of the Trace Moran Band. Early reports indicated a large crowd and a lot of money raised, and a good time had by all.

Pittsburgh favorite sons The Clarks are gearing up to release their next studio album, and fans attending several of their upcoming shows this week will get a preview of the first single from that album, which will be played during intermission. The Clarks will debut the single during shows this Wednesday through Saturday in Annapolis, Maryland, Philadelphia, Boston and New York City.

And The Clarks will be part of The Rock Boat aboard the Carnival Cruise “Imagination,” which will travel from Miami, Florida to Grand Cayman Island and back Oct. 7th through 11th. Other bands performing and cruising with The Clarks aboard the Rock Boat include Sister Hazel, Cowboy Mouth, the Pat McGee Band, Gavin DeGraw, Marc Broussard, Virginia Coalition, Ingram Hill and more. For more information about this cruise, visit the website www.therockboat.com, or visit The Clarks' website, www.clarksonline.com.
