Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the April 18 edition of "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock!

Thanks to our guests via phone this week, the members of Harrisburg-based southern-fried rockers Buckskin Whiskey! We met the group and learned their story, and spotlighted songs off their just-released debut EP Roll On! The group also made the special announcement that they would be performing in the listening area as part of the Southern Rock Woodstock event at Wagon Wheel Amphitheater near Philipsburg on July 24! Along the way, we debuted new songs from Tim Woods, Charlie Barath and Kevin Correll. We also updated "Local Music News," pulled a 2002 tune by Pittsburgh rockers Angry Trout from the archive for a "Local Music Flashback," and reviewed Royal Honey's Hype, Money and Misbehavior album in "The Professor's CD Corner!" (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94's website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on "The Professor's Classroom," and then scroll down to "Homegrown Rocker Podcast" and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 041821.)

Here is this week's playlist:

We go back to the mailboxes on our next program to check out new recordings that have arrived in recent weeks - meaning lots of new tunes from the area music scene will be forthcoming! We'll also update "Local Music News," dig into the archive for a "Local Music Flashback," and step "Across State Lines" to hear music from an out-of-state band or artist! More summer season live music events are coming together in the area. The Summer Sounds Concert Series will return to downtown Altoona’s Heritage Plaza for three events this summer.
