Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the October 3 edition of "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock!

We returned to the mailboxes this week to catch up on new recordings from the area music scene that have arrived in recent days! We debuted new tunes from Black Ridge, Ted McCloskey, Bill Dann & Jack Servello, Alec Henderson, Gentleman East, A.D. 2020, August Winters, Don't Panic, Sunset Over Mars, Abstentious and Milpool! In addition, we updated "Local Music News," dug into the archive for a 1998 tune by Pittsburgh's "Sho 'Nuff, stepped "Across State Lines" to debut brand new music from eastern Ohio rockers Doctor Smoke, and reviewed Dilemma's Open Mind Closed Mouth album in "The Professor's CD Corner!" (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94's website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on "The Professor's Classroom," and then scroll down to "Homegrown Rocker Podcast" and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 100321.)

In Local Music News...

Altoona nu-metal rockers Hate Grenade have finalized the band lineup for their upcoming annual Trick or FEED Food Drive event at McGarvey's, which will raise non-perishable food items and money for the Altoona Food Bank. This year's event happens on Halloween night, Sunday, October 31, and begins at 6 p.m. Besides Hate Grenade, the night will also see performances from Paradigm, Grampian and Ed N'Born. Donation at the door is either a non-perishable food item or a $5 cash donation. Started in 2016, Trick or FEED has raised more than $2,000 in food and donations to date.

The State College area music scene has mourned the loss of another musician in recent days...One of the founding members of State College's Triple A Blues Band, Pete Sheridan, passed away in mid-September. Nicknamed “The Jukester,” Pete co-founded the Triple A Blues Band in 1991 with Dr. Dave Mudgett, and was the group's original harmonica player. Pete recorded two albums with the group, including their first album, Highwater, which won first prize in Billboard/Musician Magazines' “Best Unsigned Band Competition” for best song writing and musicianship.
