Well, it was a bad year for me with both my younger brother and grandmother passing away. The best gig for the band would hands down have to be the Annual Chuck's Farm Sunflower Festival in Rebersburg, Pa on October 1st. We went on right after our good friends from Mysterytrain, played from 1:45-4:3...

Some good people are holding a benefit concert for my brother Matt Vipond's two children in Downtown Altoona this Friday, September 18 from 6:00-11:00. All proceeds will go to a trust fund for Simon and Aubree Vipond. He was too damn young to go. We (CV&SSB) are playing the event. A few others a...

Thanks, JP, and everyone for the kind words. I know that many of you knew Matt even moreso than myself. He had a LOT of friends and touched even more people with his kindness, generosity, intelligence, and wit. The Wing Off tonight is going to be a benefit for my brother Matt's family. Our band is p...

Hey, everybody, I was mistaken about Dan and Mysterytrain being there when the raid took place. I spoke with Dan yesterday, and he told me that was a quote he found from another band that was there. My bad! I would still love to hear the soundboard recordings, and I'm sure they'll be used in court. ...

Nice hijack, folks! Religion IS just pimped-out superstition. Imagine setting up your gear to perform at a huge 500-800 person show and encountering what Dan and Mysterytrain were faced with. Sounds like it could be a great song, Dan! I would love to hear what those microphones picked up. Lyrics to ...

I roast my own coffee. It costs about $4.00/lb. It tastes great, best coffee EVER, but now I can't drink anyone else's muck! Other than that, try Commonplace Coffeehouse and Roastery's coffee near Penn State Altoona. Freshest coffee around. We bring our own "Street Band Blend" when we perf...

I'd like to thank Brian (Dirtysanchez), Jim Price, Zappasxwife, Chris and Lori from the Underground, Harold Taddy, Brian and Andrea Weibley (who did a GREAT job redecorating Curtin Mall), and everyone else for coming down last night. It would have been much more fun in our own park, but the City of ...

Thanks, Jim! I may need your pictures as evidence after I step into the viper pit with my ukulele, and slaughter/serenade City Hall members and PLCB "officers" with the actual Street Band version of our group...just email the pictures to my attorney! Phil, it looks like you're playing acou...

Downtown Jams Concert Fiasco

We are supposed to play at Downtown Jams in the Curtin Mall in Downtown Altoona tonight. The "Jazz" Concert was moved from this location at the end of last summer to Heritage Plaza. Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art obtained the liquor license to sell drinks. Clem is all set to serve up s...

My first show was in 1991 at the Lighthouse in State College. Anyone remember that place? Anyway, I was 14 and it was only about a year after I started playing. I've been playing shows ever since. Good times...good times.

I was a bit apprehensive when I first got into contact with Jim Allford, and I think he sensed that so he hooked our group up with the Sirius/XM radio DJ that Phil spoke of. Jim just connected our group with an old friend of his. I couldn't find where to submit music to Sirius/XM so yes, this was a ...
