Cosmic!

Post by Jim Price »

From earlier today (Sunday), in the waning moments of Cosmic Jam at the Lincoln Caverns Amphitheater near Huntingdon, The Hurricanes rocking at dawn!

Image

En route home from their regularly-scheduled Saturday night gig at the Mount Union VFW, the Hurricanes stopped off at Cosmic Jam, set up their gear, and rocked until dawn in front of an audience of about 20-25 awake diehard music fans and partiers (and provided background music to numerous others who were asleep in their campsites)! Today also happens to be Denny Claar's birthday, and he said the Hurricanes playing 'til dawn was one of the best presents he could receive!

Thanks to the 'Canes for showing up and not letting the party end, and thanks to Dan and Mysterytrain for throwing this shindig! It's fun to be able to enjoy live music at this location again!

That's awesome! I missed both of Hurricanes performances, but I spent Friday, and most of Saturday there, and had a BLAST! This show/party continued through the night!

Thanks, Dan, for inviting us to play at your event! Mama Corn, Mysterytrain, Steam City Riders, Electric Lemonade Stand, Heavy Radio, and Gina Riggio from Mysterytrain ALL put on excellent shows.

We put a couple pictures up here:

I had a blast, can't wait until the next one. I think the Canes had a gig that day, the VFW gig, then played until dawn. My carpal tunnels shudder at the thought. :)
Kudos to all, sorry I didn't get to talk to you, JP.--->JMS

The whole fest was a blast! I was there all 3 days, but I had the family with me on Sat night, and we had to head home before Felix took the stage. I got to see a lot of cool people I know, and got to meet a bunch of cool new people, too. Good times!

Oh - I'm also sorry I didn't get a chance to say hello to you, JP! You drove right by me as you were driving in on Sunday night, but I think my wife and I were prepping the back of the SUV to make a place for the kiddos to sleep so we could hang for Mysterytrain.

And thanks to Dan and Mystertrain for putting on this fest, and to Gina Riggio for letting me know about it! If you don't know about it already, Gina from Mysterytrain has a solo CD coming out soon that we just finished up this past Friday morning before we both headed back to Cosmic Jam for the day. For more info on that, check out www.ginariggio.com/music.html.

Long day but it was worth it, it was our 3rd gig that day. Dan has some more festys coming up, bands jump on this and get your fans out. Totally worth it. Cool Pic JP!

I'm so disappointed that I missed the Hurricanes...after Mama Corn and MysteryTrain we went up to our campsite and partied until crawling to our tent. When I was sleeping I know I had dreams about the Hurricanes or at least their music was in my dream... haha. Then in the morning someone said they were there!

COSMIC CROWN

Post by Mysterytrain »

And the Cosmic Crown of the weekend goes to... Felix and the Hurricanes.

They started the event and finished it. Anyone there will tell you that not only did they play until dawn but without a set break at all. Also, they weren't slowing down and wearing out on those last couple of tunes. The last songs were "Green Grass and High Times" from the Outlaws and "Train, Train" from Blackfoot and they were smoking hot. It was unbelievable!

You just can't plan stuff like this. This weekend was magical on many levels but this was definitely the most memorable.

So to Bobby, Felix and Jeff... The Cosmic Crown belongs to you!
