Thats pretty cool. Lesters are expensive as it is. I wonder how much more they're going to charge for the robot version.

Gibson is also releasing a retrofit for Les Pauls, SG's, and Flying V's.
No modifications to the guitar. $899 at Musician's Friend.

you can retrofit them to any guitar. PRS won't be coming out with shit though; Gibson has exclusive U.S. distribution.
Stand back, I like to rock out.

It's pretty cool that there are no wires that need run to the headstock. It uses the strings themselves to transmit the tuning data.

Custom tunings can also be done, or it can self tune to a reference string for tuning to other instruments.

There is also an intonation helper that tells you how many turns and which direction to move the saddles.

I might buy an SG just to put this system on. I don't want to use my Les Paul as a test subject.

Zon puts out a bass made just for that. Michael Manring uses them.

Just imagine writing a song where the bass slips to a different tuning at the same time as the guitar. It would be potentially gut-wrenching. You could really mess with people's heads.
