BadDaze kicked ass. It was nice to talk to Kent, Keith, Bobby, Fbooth, the Bad Daze boys, Dave Charltor, Brian (DirtySanchez), Rob Bonsell and especially Rockpage Ron. Dont get to see many of these guys in Johnstown.

Its a little harder when traveling over the mountain and having to work in the morning. The orig post said 8:00 so I figured 7:45 arrival would get us some good seats. All in all its worth it for Jim Price who has certainly has helped any band Ive ever been in along the way.

THANK YOU!

I had a blast, even if I did arrive a little late (darned Altoona Curve decided to finally show up and make the game interesting with 2 outs in the 9th inning, only to come up one run short).

I got there during Euphoria's set; after seeing Lauren Johnson getting up and singing with the Hurricanes numerous times in the past few years, it was cool to see her blossom in her own band setting! And the mini-sets from Spirit Lost, Slacker Theory, 7th Gear, and the punk and blues jams at the end were all very enjoyable as well.

Some folks were wishing me "happy birthday" last night, and in a sense, there was a birthday being celebrated, as this month marks 21 years that I have officially been writing about the music scene in Pennsylvania Musician. I started doing it back then because local bands were inspiring me with their performances, but many were playing in front of empty rooms and not getting any recognition of their talents from local press or media. Pennsylvania Musician didn't yet have an Altoona area column, and I saw an opportunity to let local readers and the outside world know that we had some talent in these here hills! Twenty-one years later, I'm still inspired every weekend by what I see onstage, and as I said during last night's benefit - You keep on doing what you do (making the music), and I'll keep doing what I do (writing and getting the word out about it).

Thanks to Hurricane for setting this night up, to all the musicians and bands who performed, Claudio and the 30 Something staff, Rockpage Ron for providing this cyber-setting for the area music scene to come together, communicate and share ideas, everybody who came out last night, and everybody who has supported my efforts over the years. The help with my gasoline budget is greatly appreciated, and even moreso, the vote of confidence and appreciation. Again, THANK YOU!

Last night was awesome! It's always a cool chance to put faces to names and different people always end up showing up each time. Chad, cool to see you out, man ... it's been a while (we pulled Miley Cyrus from our set list last night because we didn't want you metal guys to beat us up in the parking lot ... LOL).

ALL the acts had it together last night. Lately, I feel like we're touring with Spirit Lost ... hehe ... bunch of great people in that camp and a really fun band.

Lauren's band Euphoria was just great — good job, Lauren, it was only a matter of time!

Finally — my first look at Slacker Theory and they definitely lived up to the hype. The originals were effing phat, the musicianship is very impressive (even with Bonsell involved ... hehe) and Steve has really evolved into a confident and entertaining front man ... loved these guys.

The 7th Gear boys tore it up, too. Very tight and they kept the tunes coming at you. Excellent.

Unfortunately, that was the end of the night for me but gotta say once again big thanks to JP, the beneficiary of the evening, who, with his dedication, has earned way more than we could ever raise at any benefit. You da man, man! Happy Birthday!

Big hats off to Bobby Hurricane for organizing these Rockpage Jams, to Claudio for providing a great room for them to take place in and of course, Ron, for our "world." And one more time, thanks to everyone who came out. It's very cool that we can come together like this and just hang as brethren.

What a blast and what a great night for music. It was nice meeting even more of the people who make this site what it is. The music was extremely impressive, the camaraderie was top-notch... and no bass amps burst into flames. :D

Now I'm off to Germany for a week of hard work and hard play. I also have to check for RickW if the Star Club is still there. The Reeperbahn/St. Pauli area can be more fun than Vegas.

Yes indeed, it was nice to meet you guys and gals (yankee rose)

It's nice to put a face to a name, and I know that I missed meeting alot of people cause of the lack of name tags and what not (again...yankee rose).

Lots of great musicianship from everyone involved. Good times indeed.

Joe, for the next one, there will be several different kinds of real name tags/labels for you to choose from. :)

Ron, safe travels, and please try to not have so much fun you end up in a German prison.

Finally getting a chance to say thanks to all the other great musicians that were there last night. It was nice to finally meet a few of you. It was an honor to have the opportunity to help JP out.

Looking forward to hearing the rest of the sets that these bands play!

Trace: loved meeting you and really enjoyed the show you and the "Friends of Hurricane" put on! Man, I miss playing blues!

The Rockpage jam is one of the things I miss most now that I am in Ala-freakin'-Bama. Bums me out that I am down her and missing out, but glad to hear it was a great night!

JP - you wanna move down here and help create a better music scene like PA has? ;)
