Usually, on Monday mornings, especially if I don't check my email throughout the weekend too much, I'll have to spend a little time cleaning out my junk folder and that usually involves anywhere between 300-400 crap messages. It's somewhat time consuming but when you've had the same hotmail account for six years, it's hard to just start over with a new one and make sure everyone who might need to be in contact with you knows the new address.
Well, this morning, I had a few more than 300-400 ...

Showing you guys this makes me feel like Randy Marsh when he invited all his friends over to the house to see what he "created" because he was convinced no one would believe it.
Anybody else getting pummeled like this?!?

Yeah, but aside from that, I have no problem with hotmail, especially since they upped the storage. My biggest problem with opening a new account is what I said earlier, about getting the new address out to everyone. You're gonna miss some people and I have a buttload of contacts, including "mailer daemon."
I usually get 10 to 15 spam messages a day (more on Sundays because they send more out figuring people are home) and about 1/3 of them are for colon cleaner (somebody trying to tell me I'm full of it I guess).
I have to check my spam folder carefully though because quite often some of my real emails get dumped into my spam folder and I have to make sure before I delete anything.

I scan the folder each time for non-junk but even at only a few hundred over the weekend I'm sure I miss some that are good. But there was no way I was gonna go through 832 pages of crap to see if anything was keepable.
NOTE: If you emailed me over the weekend and I haven't responded to you, send it again, I probably dumped it if you're not someone who regularly hits me up.

I've had a hotmail for just as long, if not longer... I get zero junk like that. One here and there every now and then. But nothing close to that... WOW!!!
I've been told in the last few month there is a killer virus going around. We had one here at work a few weeks ago. But it was contained to one PC. They say that "Email Returned" or "Email failed" is how it gets into your system...
I usually get 20-30 spam e-mails each day here at my work e-mail ( a university account) but a few days I had more like 400. Most from mail deamon or whatever that is. My IT guy told me that is not a virus but what it is is my e-mail address has been hi-jacked into a robot account, used to send OUT spam. The undelivered messages are from accounts that do not exist because all of the addresses are computer generated.

this is a real dumb question, but, have you changed your password, cuz you're getting a whole lot of failed delivery notices (of mail you're sending out) Just a question.

It isn't likely that someone else is actually sending mail using his account. It is likely though that his e-mail address is being used as a fake return address. I mean, I could make e-mail look like it was coming from anybody and any address in the world.
That is the reason I quit using hotmail and yahoo! and went with my own domain name. They sell your address to third party vendors, in which you get slammed with spam.
