Silly things that make you smile...

Post by DMFJ03 »

As I sit here and watch my cat chase and bat her toy around the kitchen's linolium floor, it makes me wonder...

What makes everyone out there smile? I'm not talking about things like new gear, porn, booze, or those kinds of thing. Just your simple everyday things.

Fess up!!

Plus, it's always funny when the people driving them through small towns try to obnoxiously peel out or screech tires around turns in an effort to seem cool.

I love to play pranks on people I know. Even if I don't get to see their reaction, just picturing their look of confusion or terror makes me smile.
Also, when my boyfriend and I drive through small towns on the motorcycle, we like to beep and then wave to people we don't know that are outside. They almost ALWAYS wave back and I think they say to each other, oh that was so-and so, someone they know that has a motorcycle. We wear helmets so we are anonymous. Plus we just like spreading friendliness, this tired world needs it.
Seeing cute animals in the woods makes me smile.
I know, I'm a dork.

Haha, I do the same thing!
Everytime I see a Blue Escort ZX2 like mine, I wave to them.
There's this little blonde hottie that I always wave to everytime I see her.

I hope she gets a flat sometime, so I can save her day with my spare tire. LOL

Kids playing "Smoke on The Water" over and over on guitar. It makes me remember.

Crows and squirrels telling everybody else in the woods that you're there.

My wife cursing at the Christmas tree as she attempts to set it up. And the fact that she does exactly that every year.

That "sploosh!" sound when a big bass explodes on a topwater lure on a quiet day.

How teenagers dress up for one another and promenade around with their friends at the Wing-Offs.

How people give me the business for talking too much, then proceed to tell me their deep secrets.

How graduating high-school seniors have the world by the ass.

How little kids on daytime soaps go away to school for 9 months and come back as adults.

The sound of an E-minor chord played on a Les Paul, into a Marshall full-stack, cracked wide open. And the sound of a flat-picked Martin D-28.

Looking out at any size crowd, as long as they're having a great time.

Knowing I just played my ass off, even if nobody noticed.--->JMS

I'm not the brightiest bulb in the pack.... But I just can't believe how stupid, people with no common sense, and lazy people are these days...

Realizing that there is a dimmer bulb than I, I guess...... That's what makes me smile.... :D

As a newbie motorcycle rider, I dork out for that thing where bikers wave to each other. It feels like you're part of some secret club. Actually, just being able to take a hand off the handlebars without dying feels like a major victory. 8)

When I want a good laugh all I gotta do is read the news. The world as a whole is so hopelessly full of shit it's funny...in a morbid way...

On the cute side, nothing is funnier than exposing my six-year-old daughter to new things and watching her reaction. Children have such a wonderful and innocent view of the world, it can be hilarious. :D

The way my dog has to walk around in a circle 3 times before he can lay down. Every time. Same doggie bed, every time.

I just saw a sign along the road today that was supposed to say "Women's self defense classes" but it seems gravity took hold of the letter S in "self" and it read:
"Women's elf defense classes"

I asked the lady driving the rig behind me when women ever had to worry about troublesome elves...she said "They ARE short, and tend to stick their noses where they don't belong."

Nice double entendre, and it had me laughing for the next few miles. I smile remembering it now.

Hearing DMFJ sing his "This is Stupid" song.

The grand vocal entrance T. Brown makes when he arrives at the store.

And about a million other things.

My kids. I have three and they make my life different then it was before. I also have a group of kids that i teach, they are awesome, even the ones that really try my patience.

People. The people around me always change but I care so much for everyone that I am involved with that it makes me smile to see them and to be a part of their life.

reading things about bass the fish twice because the first time i thought he meant bass the instrument.

an awsome walking bassline. better yet, coming up with one.

when you writing a song with your band and it just comes together in such a good way.

-Sitting down behind my drums. Don't have to play 'em, just sitting behind them makes me happy.

-Spending time with my two daughters.

-The sound of a perfectly struck driver as I tee off at The Summit in Cresson.

-Not having to watch my follow up iron go into the woods after that great driver shot.

-The sound of poker chips.

-The sound of setting up for a show, including the pissing, moaning, whining, and bitching. Mostly from me. 8)

-Watching my six-year old daughter sit down behind my drumset and ask daddy to give her a lesson. That's frickin' awesome.

Seeing my daughter smile, even though i dont know what shes smiling about. maybe shes farting? And hearing my son laugh, he has this ridiculous belly laugh that is contagious to the point where it makes everyone else laugh. By the way, just to let everyone know, my daughter finally came home from the hospital yesterday after 2 long months of being in there. That makes me smile also!

The Phantom Crap (look it up). I had one yesterday. Realizing I could enjoy the relief of unleashing my large intestine's fury with minimal 'cleanup' put a smile on my face.

The best smile I had all week however was on my way home yesterday. I pulled up to a last gen bright red Firebird. I was oogling it as I crept up next to it. I thought about revving my little 6 cyl just for poops and giggles. Then I looked closer. Hanging from the rear view mirror was a handi-capped tag and hunched over the wheel was a 75 year old woman. That made my day. The when the light turned green, I slowly pulled away only to look back in my mirrors and see that she was slowly creeping away probably peaking at about 20mph in a 40 zone. That made my week.

I hope to see my mother in a sporty 2-door when she's that old.
