Travel a little out of the way and get our wings! The Alley Popper in Houtzdale has their famous wing special on Sunday and Thursday....all day...$2.99 a dozen eat in only. They are the jumbo wings and are the best in our area! (well, that statement is based on customer reviews)

Racers in Bal Eagle intersection makes some great wings. As for the altoona area I am not sure - Although, for the State College area; Quaker Steak and Lube wings are awesome !

Quaker steak in State College is closed. They neglected to pay their franchise fees so the corporation went after then with a lawsuit for using their name and image.

Wow, when did that happen? I never heard anything about it. That stinks to say the least, their food was awesome.

Colton, did you ever 'get lucky' on a delivery order? I imagine that might be every woman's fantasy...the hot guitar playing pizza guy.

I have a friend who screwed a girl on a test drive when he worked at a car dealership. Maybe we can turn this into a 'having sex in the line of duty' thread. So what's your sex at work story?

Al's tavern, Cobrh's lounge, Pellies, and The Cantina are all pretty good in Altoona.

Spikes Pub, on the tyrone pike just outside of Houtzdale are the best though. Definitely worth a 25-30 minute drive.

I've been addicted to Pellegrine's original hot wings since 1991. I'm going for my next fix tonight.

Also in Altoona, I like Al's, Belmar, Knickerbocker and CoBRH's wings.

Quaker Steak & Lube closed last Tuesday. I found out when I tried to deliver Pennsylvania Musician there on Wednesday, and saw the sign about the closure on the door. I'll miss their "Louisiana Licker" wings.

I wonder if that affects the Quaker Steak & Lube stand at Blair County Ballpark? Were they part of the State College operation, or a different franchise from the parent company?

Thanx for the info, Jim. That is a shame. Maybe they will open back up? I'm not sure if the blair county ball park and them are the same or not.

That storyline is totally going into the first porno that I'm planning on writing and directing.

I can't wait to use all of the cheesy double entendres about stick shifts.

Dan DiSabato from Altoona, and my recently deceased friend, Dave Riley, used to make the best wings ever. They only did tiny batches at parties, and everyone who ever attended one of those parties quickly agreed they were the best they'd ever tasted. Just the perfect blend of hot, savory, and smoky. I'm not usually a fan of hot stuff, but jeez, they were good. Dan's VERY protective of the recipe... I wonder if they added crack or something.
Johnstown's Scooter's has some kickass 7-pepper wings that rock, too.---->JMS

Is Dan DiSabito a school teacher? Is his wife a dental hygenist. And Jim P., did you ever have anything 'interesting' happen to you when you were delivering PA Musician magazines? I imagine those bar wenches get *bored* on weekday afternoons...

You were friends with Dave too?

Man I miss him.... I remember back in the 80's When he lived by the old Sabs with Donnie Crum and Sam Price.. They'd go to Baltimore and get busshels of crabs and we'd pig down all night on a keg of Michelob..

Man Dave knew how to have fun..

Did I mention I miss him? hehe....

Yeah, I do.
I met him when our wives became friends. We hung out for a few years off and on, picnics and parties and such. Great guy, he was my age. That one made me pause, you just never know.--->JMS
