Pushing Red

Post by BDR »

Made the trip to Clearfield Saturday night to catch Pushing Red. Wow. Great show, guys. Cryssie did not disappoint — that voice is even better than I remember from last year and you can really see her comfort level on stage has risen. Not to mention, she's smokin' hott, lol. Seriously. Keep it up, girlie, U effing rock. Tabatha thinks you're amazing, btw.

It was my first time seeing the other guys in action and I gotta tell ya, this is a well-rounded instrumental group. "The Trav Show" was awesome as advertised. Rock them skins, honky. This guy pounds. C-Dub put on a bass clinic and his vocals were really strong and blended well with Cryssie's.

Then, there was Luis on guitar. Dude was sick off his ass and was sleeping between sets but got his ass up there and did his thing, never letting on that he was sick. Dude shredded and was a total trooper the whole night. ROCKTHEEFFOUT.

Great song selection and things flowed well throughout the night. On top of everything else, they were very approachable when fans came up to them between sets. It's so important to connect with the crowd off stage and they did that work.

Check these guys out when you get the chance. Trust me. Had a great night. Don't believe me? Ask JP.

What BadDazeRob said...

I was definitely glad I made the road trip to Mojo's to see Pushing Red. This gal and guys deliver the goods! Cryssie has stepped her game up; she sang with confidence and poise! And instrumentally, Trav, C-Dub and Luis are all strong performers, individually and together as a unit. And Kudos to Luis for weathering the sickness bug and lighting it up on that guitar, especially on Avenged Sevenfold's "Bat Country!"

I also liked the song list; Pushing Red did a number of tunes you don't hear everyone else doing.

And hats off to Ed the Mojo's house soundman, he had Pushing Red sounding great - his mix on Trav's drums was one of the best drum mixes I've heard lately!

Very good show. I'm already putting in the word at a few 'Toona rooms that this is a band they need to be looking at!

No shit. When we were there last month, I thought Jim's kick was gonna knock me off the front of that very high stage. It was like the kind of thunder that makes your gall bladder jiggle.

I got the opportunity to do some sub work with Trav and Luis when they were in Plush and the whole experience was positive. These guys are pros and are excellent musicians. I haven't seen Pushing Red yet, but my interest has definitely been piqued.

I like that idea.

That show was hot when I was in Bradley Junction, a line-dance country band... My wife still occasionally calls me, "B. Bubba Beau Bob Brain." :D --->JMS
