Stupid Commercial...

Post by RobTheDrummer »

Ok, does anyone else hate those Lexus Christmas gift commercials?

I mean really, who has the money to blow on a brand new Lexus for a Christmas gift?

AND

If you don't have the money to blow, are you really gonna pay all those high monthly payments? OR Make the person you got the gift make the payments? Wait, how about that's their gift for the next 5 Christmases while you make those payments....

Stupid.

Another stupid one is these cuddly robes with a cowl neck they sell that show the whole family sitting around wearing them...the funny thing is they all look like monks. They're sitting around a fire toasting weinies (dressed like monks) it is like a parody of a commercial it looks so ridiculous.
And, yea, who is buying someone a car? And an American one at that, haha.

My mother had that program that changes your attitude in one minute or less over 20 years ago. It was called a belt back then.

On a different note, did anyone notice that Dave Matthews has sold out and is doing the new American Express commercials? For some reason it always bothers me when a musician does one of these commercials, I know its his right to do whatever, but I don't like it.

Just wear your robe backwards. It is the same thing.

My dad had a 1 minute behavioral modification program.......

It was him storming through the house for 60 seconds throwing furniture around yelling "Where the Christ is my Belt, I'm gonna beat that kids ASS"?

As I ran down the alley pissing my pants wondering how long the street lights were gonna be on before I could safely come home... hehe...

EDIT... God Damn you McCloskey !! You took my punch line!!!!!

Rob, you are so right! Stupid advertising dollars wasted that raise the price of their cars. If the rich want a Lexus they get one because their neighbor or friend has one and loves it or they want to make a statement. Same as the Hummer ads. Why in the world would anyone want to drive an ugly box with a nice paint job. It's just to make a statement folks. That guy could afford it, I can't.

Pretty sure he has done other commercials. I know his music has been in others. Pretty sure if 90% of your audience are kids who drove their mom's lexus to your show and bought a 200 dollar pair of birkenstocks just for the occasion, you've been a sellout for a while.

Duh.
