agreed. i have maybe shopped there a couple times, never really cared for the store but i feel bad for all those peeps that don't have a job tomorrow.

what surprises me is that the cited article states their inventory is worth 1.8 billion, i would have guessed it was worth a lot more than that.

That is too bad to see another large retailer close. One of Circuit City's biggest issues was that they grew too big too fast and opened way too many stores in a few years. They over extended themselves with debt.

Them firing all those people because they made too much is what drew me away from them. They could never be as good as best buy either

I wonder what kind of sales they will have on tv's? This is income tax time. I will have to see if I can get my 60 in hdtv at an awesome price ! :)

As an ex employee, i have to say that circuit was a cool place to work, i made a lot of great friends at that place and always got great deals on certain things from them. I will be sad to see them go down the drain, but i knew it was coming for a long time, just didnt think it would be this soon. RIP Circuit.

I agree, I never cared for that store much, but I also dont like to see hard working people lose their jobs.

I was thinking that I might be able to go to circuit city get a price on a tv then go to best buy to get it at a better price with their price matching lol

Then, they may not have that anymore. Either way, I get a discount at best buy from work anyhow :)

I always had a good experience at Circuit City. I do remember seeing their asset value once, and couldn't believe it was so low... they must have a HUGE debt load. I'm hearing the same thing about Guitar Centers, so don't be surprised if they bite the begonia as well.--->JMS

if that happens to GC, wonder who's gonna end up with lenny, blackie, brownie, claptons 335 and so on. those two guys have a world class collection. i don't think they own them personally, seems that i remember GC buying them. would they have to sell them for doe, if GC owns them.
