I have a friend that told me a friend of her's in trying to buy it. She said he wants to concentrate more on the restaurant part of it, but MAY still have bands.lonewolf wrote:Bobby, did they say anything about selling the place? The last time we played there, she mentioned getting out of the business. Maybe its just changing hands again?

Here is what the mail said.
Dear Friend:
It is with sadness and a heavy heart that I find myself sending you this newsleter today. Unfortunately, AT THE HOP is closing. May 2 was our last night of normal operations.
At the Hop will be open Wednesday May 13 and May 20 for World Tavern Poker Tournaments at 6pm and 9pm. These tournaments have been paid for in advance. May 20th is the last day we will be open for any activity.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who supported AT THE HOP. We appreciated your patronage and getting to know a lot of GREAT people. You will be missed.
This was not a decision taken lightly, but a decision made out of necessity. As we move forward, know that many of you have made an impact on our lives.
The fundraisers that you have supported, i.e., Alzheimers, Cancer and Multiple Sclerosis, were all good causes, close to our heart, and ones that are grateful for your financial contributions. Hats off to all who participated.
We leave you with best wishes and warm thoughts.
Peggy, Keith and Liz Hardie

Unfortunately, I think this is one of those places that is destined to fail. Louie's family has been trying to unload it for years since he died and it always ends up back in the family's hands. Plus their are water issues. I don't know if they're asking too much for it or what but nobody seems to be able to keep it going. One thing that bothered me this time was the name. Where are you playing? We're playing at At the Hop. They should've called it The Hop. r:>)
That's what she said.
