Bloodbath In Glen Ritchey...

Post by Charltor »

Last nite had to be one of the most surreal experiences while playing on stage ever! During our second song I began seeing drops of blood on the floor where Brian (DirtySanchez) was standing during our performance, half way thru the song it kept getting worse to the point that it was pooling on the ground. I thought he may have cut his foot on a piece of broken glass or something (he was wearing croc sandals), or had a bad nosebleed. We all were like dude, where is all this blood coming from. I mean it looked like someone gutted a deer on the stage, no exaggerating. Needless to say, we stopped playing and helped him into the bathroom where we discovered that a large varicose vein in his right leg had burst. It was spraying like a hose everywhere. An Ambulance was called and while waiting for it the patrons all started freaking out as to what was going on. Rug thought someone had been stabbed there was that much blood everywhere.

Brian is doing ok. They discharged him last nite. Our apologies to Rug and the Samara crew, Drain the Sorrow, and to the Times Square staff for the unfortunate incident. Hope we can do it again sometime as it was a pretty cool venue.

Between this and Scott's (onegunguitar) motorcycle accident, and a bunch of other shit that transpired this week, I'm beginning to think we've been cursed! LOL! Maybe we should change the name of the band to BledUP!

I'm glad to hear that Brian's alright. Bleeding on stage is pretty rock 'n roll. I hope that Scott's alright as well. I didn't know about his accident.

Edit: Just read Scott's thread.

Yeah, at the ER I told Brian he should have smeared some all over his face and come back on stage and we'd do some Misfits covers. It would have been like the vintage Misfits shows, only with the real thing. A couple people we know got some pics, I'll post them as soon as we get them.

Brian strikes me as the kind of guy that would continue performing until the last drop had fallen...Brian,, didnt you say you always wanted to go out on stage? :P

Thanks guys. I've been dealing with this shit on my right ankle/leg for well over a year now, and my doctors are fucking retards.

Rickster- I did at least finish the song, but the blood was literally shooting out of my leg like a super soaker. The paramedics could not believe I was still conscious (guess it was the ginger brandy.

To everyone at the show- I apologize and, I'm gonna contact Times Square about playing a free show or something up there, so everyone can hear fedup the way it should be, and set it off on the right foot (no pun intended). That's a really nice place with a decent in house sound system!

To the dudes in Samara and Drain the sorrow- Sorry for fuckin up the show, and thanks for helping me. The look on Troy Mort's face was priceless and makes me lol every time I think about it.

It was freaky shit, and I'm looking for a better doctor as we speak.
Anyone know any orthopedic surgeons who aren't afraid to treat pain/perform surgery as opposed to selling me fucking sneakers?

Whoa, start singing some Rammstein songs now. Wow, glad to see you're alright. So did you feel anything was wrong, or was the adrenaline flowing too much and the only reason you knew was because they told you? That's still crazy though.

I kept slipping on the floor. I thought someone spilled a beer or something, then I looked over and saw the look of horror/disgust on Troy Mort's (singer for Drain The Sorrow) face, and felt my shoe/sock was warm and soaked. I was afraid to look down. I didn't feel a thing. It's pretty sore now, though.

Ha. Giving your all, and then some, huh Brian? I'm glad everything's alright, but that's a pretty interesting way to do a show! Next time though, stick to a fake blood sprayer, ala GWAR

That's funny, Dave and I were jamming Scumdogs of The Universe the whole way up to the show.

Have you been to Dr. Cherry and the others at University Orthopedics? They have been the bomb with treating my mother-in-law and go out of the way to listen to her concerns. The staff there are wonderful in our experience. We usually go to the State College location but have been to the Altoona location when Dr. Cherry wasn't in State....part of that listening to what her concerns are and such....

Hope you get it figured out soon...

Damn B, I hope everything works out for you. Stop down and talk to my mother about a good doc. She knows some of the best.
