Anvil - Who would have ever expected?
Anvil - Who would have ever expected?
Twenty-odd years after they surfaced during the '80s metal era, Canadian rockers Anvil finally get their 15 minutes of fame:

I have three of Anvil's albums on vinyl. I'm firing up the turntable and cranking up Metal on Metal. The title song, "Mothra" and "Heatsink" all used to get played on WFBG's "All Night Album Rock" back in the day. I think we also played the title song from Anvil's Forged In Fire on the show as well.

As long as your mom's bedroom has internet service.

I saw a bootleg copy of the movie. IT IS EXCELLENT.
I have always been a fan of Anvil especially the Metal On Metal album.
And they are doing some of the Priest tour, just select dates, mainly on the west coast.
Those guys should have been waaaay bigger, just some bad luck. You will see in the movie
A fine flick

I just got back from seeing this movie at the State Theatre (Monday night). Excellent flick! I highly recommend it for anybody in a band (especially younger musicians); it definitely gives some insight about the ups and downs of being in a band and pursuing the dream. Anvil definitely has lived it and still keeps the faith, living their passion and leaving their mark. The best wisdom that comes from the movie is something that songsmith has said on here many times...The chase of the dream is better than the catch, and leaves you with unforgettable experiences and memories along the way.
Anvil: The Story of Anvil is running through Thursday night (6/18) at the State Theatre. If you have the opportunity, check it out!
