It's the experience, man! Theatres kick so much more ass than a shaky washed out cam recording. Plus the popcorn seasoning stuff they have now kicks ASS! I like white cheddar.

Some are cams and they arent the best quality, but there are plenty of Telesyncs and R5's! They look great! Telesyncs are usually filmed with HD cams :) Not handcams like most cam versions.

Edit: Hell yeah Panzer, i didnt see your post! Youre right though.

Yeah, those are dvdrips typically. Made from the dvd and encoded into avi.
They do look good. Anything made from a dvd or R5 is gonna look really good.
Alot of movies use the avi format though. From cams to the R5.

Idk. I have a sony 55 inch sxrd and a samsung 56 inch dlp and I've played a couple xvids and dvdrips on them. There is too much compression if the file is smaller than 2 gigs. It doesn't look good on a big screen. And that's not even commenting on the sound quality :(. I much prefer the movie theatre to my home theatre mainly because I like to see movies in their native format and the bigger the screen the better as far as i'm concerned. I don't even feel that my blue rays compare to the theatre, even though they are AWESOME, expecially with my Onkyo 5.1 (Batman = mind blowing).

I've also watched my fill of cams. Seems it can be difficult to get new releases as quickly as I would like that are in a dvd quality format, and again, they really aren't dvd quality when you get them on a big screen. Downloaded stuff is good for my laptop, though.

If a movie is good enough, I go see it. It's good for the industry and it means more good movies for me later. Plus, like I said, home popcorn just isn't as good.

I can't believe you pricks watch movies without paying for them. No wonder the "Hollywod" dicks get millions just for reading a script.

I've been using BitLord and www.isohunt.com and I'm pretty damn happy with the results I've been getting. The only new movie I've watched was a cam copy of Drag Me To Hell, but it was done well. I like to download the older shit that is already on DVD...better rip.
