(Venting) "Slumlord"= DANGER to Child plus Prop.Da

Post by Banned »

Has anyone ever rented from a "Slumlord?" Well, the guy I rent from NEVER wants to fix anything and all he does is bitch when something doesn't go his way. My little girl's (she's three) bedroom ceiling collapsed right beside her bed...WHILE SHE WAS LYING IN IT!! Because he claimed to have fixed the roof. Now I am going to be the one to bitch when he comes around to collect when I show him a stack (70~80 issue's) of 1960's Bat-Man and Teen Titan comic's that got ruined because he claimed to have fixed the roof. On top of that, I have to contact buyer's and tell then that said issue's WILL NOT be shipped due to this. Lastly, I should have gotten renters insurance. I know, I'm fucked.

Thanks for the concern man, I appreciate it. Yeah, I have picture's AND I have the moldy comic's with the prices on them. I'm going to show him those when he comes around.

Thanks bro. I appreciate the concern.

The books are a complete loss. Sickens me because it is hard as hell to sell comic's as it is, and now I just had to inform a guy that he won't be needed to send $1300 for the books he wanted. OUCH!!

Gee, think the slumlord will be upset that the rent is gonna be late?

Um...ya , well, we have lived in our rented house for 6 years,, moved into one of those.,..anything you do or put into it within reason ill knock off the rent kinda things..Brought mom and dad, kids, aunts uncles in to paint and make a happy home and after buying all the paint and refinishing material, only sent him a receipt for $28 dollars for having bought and INstalled 6 smoke alarms. Then I get a phone call saying dont send me any more receipts.. I dont see how that is my responsibility?!?!?..THere wasnt a single one in the house when we moved in...Needless to say, weve seen him twice in 6 years....ceileing is falling in in the kitchen floor is falling through..and Oh illll shut up...Ask Kayla :P

Glad your daughter is ok.
Sucks about the sale.
Sucks about the ceiling too. Landlords can be assholes.
BUT WHAT WERE THE VALUABLE COMICS DOING IN YOUR DAUGHTERS ROOM???????
Thats kinda asking for them to be destroyed man! Kids like to destroy things too! I always put all my valuable things out of my son's reach. that way, accidents wouldnt happen to anything..regardless of whos fault it mightve been.
keep valuable things in safe places!

The comic's were in a different room that also had a leak. A bad one at that.

Hmm... Put the comics in a chest or something like that?

That really bites about the comics. But, and I'm sure you'd agree, I'd rather it be a few pieces of paper (worth withstanding) than your daughter. I'd say that luck has weird ways of letting you off the hook sometimes :?
