Jesus, Joe! Did I scrape a nerve, buddy? Look at my post, and read with your left eye, too. I never said she worked there. I said everytime I surf past it (I have no real use for that shyte), I see that rawhide chewtoy that guys like you like to choke their chicken at. Or words to that effect.
Ann Coulter looks like Play-Doh smells. She looks like she used to pee standing up. She looks like a hockey player, except a hockey player showers after 3 periods. She looks like somebody deflated a blow-up doll.
I probably don't give a dern what Ann Coulter thinks of me, as long as she doesn't touch me with those Man-Hands. Where's the emoticon for "piss-shiver?" --->JMS

I love the smell of Play-Doh. Used to love to open the new can and get that smell. Of course we were very poor, and used to get the cheap play-doh, the generic kind, where all the colors looked the same, and dried up in about 3 days.

Do you have nightmares about Ann? She is powerless. B. Hussein, on the other hand is very busy tearing down this country.

Didn't you once say the media was responsible for Obama becoming so popular and getting elected?

I too, like the smell of play-doh. It tastes like crap though.

No, Joe. Coulter is what you call a media gadfly. She sells her books to the fringe that think Obama's busy building concentration camps for them.
She's just butt-ugly, dude. No nightmares here. I work hard, but life is good.

You know, Joe, the other day I painted some stuff for a tea(r) partier who was watching Fox & Friends with the sound down, listening to Glen Beck on the radio. I was chuckling at how hardcore she was when her cellphone rang. Her ring-tone? I sh*t you not, it was the national anthem. I had tears in my eyes trying not to giggle. Nice lady actually, but wow, did she want me to know her politics. Like I said, it's like pro wrestling. Obama 3:16! Do ya smell-ell-ell-ellll... What Barack... Is cookin'!--->JMS

Yes, Fascist government takeover of banking, mortgage, automobile and health care industries. All 100% UnConstitutional!

It smells so bad that our great grandchildren will still be paying for it.

Sooner or later all great civilazations fall. We have been in business for over 200+years. We have gone to great lengths in keeping our No.1 status. The funny thing about is that while the Romans fell to the Vishigoths (I think), we are suicidal. Our own government has basically cut our throats.
At 44, almost 45 and a veteran and I served proudly. It is a cryin shame to watch all the things I spent protecting go down the damned toilet.

Rome was a Republic from 509 BC to 31BC: That's 478 years.

The Western Roman Empire continued until 476 AD, or another 507 years for a total of 985 years.

The United States has been the present Republic for 222 years.

Rome rose to the level of super-power in 149 BC when it destroyed Carthage and conquered Greece. Its hard to draw a line to when they stopped being a super-power, but you have to figure about 500-600 years.

The US became a super-power during WWII. 68 years ago.

I'd say that as tempting as it is, its a bit early to compare the US to Rome.

Aside from all that...Rome pretty much fell from within before being overrun by several different people. During the decline, Rome itself produced very little while relying on the provinces to provide taxes to pay for ever increasing luxuries for its citizens.

Yeah, but she has better hygiene than Michael Moore, so she at least has that going for herself.

Excellent comparison. Moore also wrings a living out of propaganda aimed at people who want there to be evil in everything. He takes a tiny kernel of truth, wraps it in shyte, and sells it for money.
And bassist25, I can't say with any authority because it's something rumored, but I've read several times that personal hygiene isn't Coulter's strong suit. She supposedly smells like body odor. Coincidentally, I've read that about Micheal Moore, too. And Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughay(sp).

If you guys happened to be out skinnin' in a local bar and a woman who looked like Ann Coulter walked in...

Half of you would be all over her like flies on shit. The other half would want to be, but would be too scared to approach her.

After spending a considerable time with the Army in Germany, I appreciate personal hygiene. I was living with a German girl and her family and there were times where I wondered which one stank more. Now, they did shower and were clean that way, however, deodorant and body sprays and such were of not in use. Of course there was the case of women not shaving their armpits or legs and at first it really bugged the lving hell outta me that the woman I was engaged to had just as much armpit hair as I did. I finally talked to her and explained to her that if she wanted to come to America with me, she was going to have to learn to shave her arms and legs. I brought one of the girls from my unit to the house to teach her. Low and Behold, she taught her to shave her bush as well and that made me happy!!!!!!!!!!1 :D

Let's get back to this slump.

Ratings just out for second quarter.

His show is number two among all prime time viewers. Although he got his butt kicked during the Michael Jackson non stop news on all channels.

His network is number two among all prime time cable news channels.

His show is number one among viewers 35 and under for prime time news shows.

Nice Slump Keith...keep it going.

The second quarter isn't over yet.

Among all prime time viewers? He would probably be closer to number two hundred than number two. If you meant all cable news primetime viewers, these shows beat him every night (see link):

O'Reilly Factor
Hannity
Greta Van Susteren

These shows vary:

Anderson Cooper 360
Campbell Brown
Larry King Live
Hawk wrote:His network is number two among all prime time cable news channels.
Overall, its a distant 3rd out of 5. CNN & Fox News both beat MSNBC. In primetime only, it looks as though MSNBC finally overtook CNN for distant #2 with about 1/2 the audience of #1 FNC (see links).

I can't find an under 35 demographic. I can only expect that this would be a very small group, numerically, since many are still living at home or busy with their PS2s.

I woke up at around 1AM to get some water and turned on the TV. To my amazement, it was on MSNBC and Olbermann was on. He was on this very topic as he read off the exact same content that you provided, Bill.

I can only surmise that the ratings polls Olbermann quoted were taken from members of the Piano Technicians' Guild.

One surprising thing that I found: Glenn Beck (that Constitution guy) beats Chris Matthews Hardball by a margin of 3 to 1!

Here are the real Nielsen Ratings:

Now how do Clusterfox's ratings compare to, say... NBC, CBS, or ABC? Fox News is okay for background if you're cleaning your weapon and stockpiling toiletpaper, but what about channels where they don't say "them' when referring to moderates and independents? You know, the outlets where they at least pretend to be objective.--->JMS

I thought this thread is about MSNBC? References to Fox and CNN are for quantitative comparison purposes only. Reminds me of Carly Simon & Shakespeare.

"you probably think this song is about you"

"Methinks he doth protest too much."

Aside from that, there are statistical reasons why cable news is in a different category than broadcast news. One is that broadcast news has a significantly larger pool of households to draw from. This extra audience is divided between the 4 major broadcast networks rather than the hundreds of cable channels.

Then there is the lead-in effect. Most people who watch evening news start off with their local news channel and continue onto the national news from that network. FNC, CNN, MSNBC, etc. do not have that local lead-in and also start their evening report at 6pm--just when most people switch to the local news.

To answer your question:

"June 16, 2009 – According to Nielsen Media Research data, “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” was the most-watched network evening newscast, winning the week of June 8-14, 2009. During the week, the Williams-led newscast was 8.271 million total viewers, a giant 2.028 million more than ABC “World News’” 6.243 million – ABC’s lowest total viewer delivery ever, and +2.869 million more than CBS “Evening News’” 5.402 million."

"6PM – P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
Special Report with Bret Baier– 1,922,000 viewers (462,000) (957,000)
Situation Room—640,000 viewers (183,000) (267,000)
Ed Show—622,000 viewers (156,000) (294,000)
Mad Money—179,000 viewers (48,000) (116,000)
Prime News–250,000 viewers (103,000) (120,000)"

So, your point is that, among left and right-wing nuts, more right-wing nuts cling to their propaganda than do left-wing nuts. Good point. I've heard a number of people say, "I only watch Fox News," and pretty much nobody say, "I only watch MSNBC."

Nah, all my point was that I saw an Orbitz commercial and the guy looked just like Olbermann in a ridiculous semi-superhero outfit. I thought it was hilarious, so I made up a ridiculous thread.

Leave it to his diehard supporters to "defend" Olbermann and take all the fun out of it.
