I'm in the same boat as Songsmith... I didn't have a clue. On top of that though, I've got work today, so my knowledge of this show wouldn't've proven any different at any different time
Last evening was the first gig for the new line up of the Hawks. Brian and I are original members with our newest members Pete on bass, Colton on guitar and Tim on keys.
Everyone knows there are glitches that come with a first gig as everyone gets used to each other and I had mine. But we left with enough enthusiasm to work harder and improve.
I would like to thank everyone for their positive feed back! It was good to see some Rockpagers there. I hope to see you on Saturday July 18 at Shaw's (shameless plug) in Juniata.
I would personally like to thank my good friend Mike (mjb) for his continued support. Mike was instrumental in starting the Hawks, and along with dearly departed Harry Walter, taught me the subtle nuances of the Blues and I have developed a passion for playing the Blues because of them. I'm sure Harry was watching and smiling upon us last evening.
I'd like to thank the Canes as well, for being a good influence and for their support.
Undercover Joe, thanks for stopping by. One would never know by our rants with each other, but on all other levels other than politics, we have become friends who disagree with each other yet respect each other. Although Joe did invite me to a "Tea Party" last night. A Passion for good music can bring anybody together and Joe and I prove that.
With our attempt to put a monthly Blues Jam together beginning in September, I hope we can bring out all of you who don't usually play the blues, along with those of you who do. With the foundation of rock built upon the blues, you might find out new things abut yourself, and you might find a connection to the blues you didn't know existed (which is what has happened to me).
Sorry for the rambling, but I feel like I usually do at a drummers get together - Inspired to work harder and a desire to share a love of music.

Word! Joe's a good guy to have as a fan, because he supports live music consistently. Good conversationalist, too... that's becoming more rare these days.--->JMS
