I dont think he was attacking your band's music, chad. he prob didnt even listen to it.
I think he was more talking about about the "evil" and "666" comments you made, then he saw stuff like that on your page. if he listened to the music and liked it, he should be able to look past all that other stuff. let the music speak for itself. in that case, you shouldnt have a prob.
By the way, REAL EVIL people arent going to spend their time writing songs about how evil they are. They are gonna be out murdering people or something.
So its safe to say, dont judge a band's music based on all the gimmicky stuff. One of my fave bands, Dimmu Borgir, is all about that gimmicky shit.
I just ignore that and focus on the music. Ill never buy any merch from the band cause its all littered with wannabe "evil" stuff. Their music is good though!!!
Take Slayer for example. Evil wannabe lyrics, pentagrams out the anus..but they still rule i think. Tom Araya is a very religious guy.
He does it to sell records. He doesnt believe a word he says. is it right? maybe not. If they stopped using all the evil lyrical themes and imagery, alot of people would stop buying their cds, and they know that.
Point is, dont judge a band unless its based on their music.....or if they have chick haircuts...thats a dealbreaker too.

Edit: posted before i saw the responses, but its still relevant.

Someone once told me that "Hallowed Be Thy Name" was an evil song because it had reference to God, however when I pointed out that at the beginning of Number of the Beast the Bible verse in Revelations is read about 666. Rev. 13-18
You have to remember, a lot of ppl at that time were freakin out over bands like KISS and other "demonic" bands. Unless they are performing live sacrifices on stage or animal sacrifices then it is an image thing.
Ronnie James Dio thinks he is a wizard or an elf??????????? I can't tell because he is so short
Bands like Maiden use this a their nitche and this is what they want ppl to believe. Other than that, I seriously doubt they are "demon worshippers"

Again, they don't use this as their nitche. They wrote more songs about war planes and air battles than they did the Devil. If the media hadn't blown up about # of the Beast, nobody would have given them a Satanic nod.joltinjeff wrote: Bands like Maiden use this a their nitche and this is what they want ppl to believe.

Yeah, and not to mention that Nicko McBrain is a pretty devout Christian, as is Tom Araya from Slayer as was mentioned previously. I think Deicide is really the only band that takes the evil satanic stuff seriously. There are some "Anton LaVey satanist" musicians like King Diamond, but that's a lot different than people who worship the devil.witchhunt wrote: If the media hadn't blown up about # of the Beast, nobody would have given them a Satanic nod.
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

at the end of the day its cool u checked out our page. Some of the recorded vox are not indicitive of our live show. We try really hard to sing intelligible so to seperate ourselves a little bit. Some of the tunes posted dont reflect that. Jasons voice cuts great and the past recording mine did not; so we kind of muddied his up a bit.
thanks and hopefully c ya soon. I'll buy u a beer.
Thanks Keith for watching a fellow metal Rp'er and thanks as always Paul 4 the kind words.

Gee no one has mentioned Ozzy in all of this talk of demons. Is he the Prince of Darkness or does he think it is dark because of his glasses?
Again, no one jumped on the DIO thing..... bummer!
Anyway, my fingers moved in the wrong direction than my brain did and I screwed that up. You are right, Aces High with Churchill's Speech at the beginning is an interesting song, so is Village of the Damned (done so well by Sunset Strip) but the best song Can I Play with Madness. Kind of makes you think of the leaders of today.

I think he's out of jail now. I know he gets out this year.
You only get 21 years over there for murder (max). Plus you get "furloughs" every weekend. Dude spent half his life in jail and has a wife and 2 kids.

Pretty sad that 3 of my all time favorite bands Venom, Celtic Frost & Mercyful Fate spawned most of these Black Metal bands that rely on image to compensate for their lack of talent. I think their as ghey as the Hair Metal trend was years back.
