A friend of mine, when he was in bands, used to have a pretty good/tough way
of handling this. If someone came to practice not knowing what they were all
supposed to, they'd send them out to their car with a tape of the song(s) and
the others would sit and wait for them.

Talk about putting someone in an uncomfortable situation. He said it worked
great and was pretty rare that anyone showed up unprepared.

Our phylosophy is why put un-needed wear and tear on your gear? We bring out i-pods and whip out our air-guitars and practice our poses in front of a room-sized mirror. DAMN......broke an air-string
