When did we start to call government officials "Czars"? It is hilarious and only available on FOX!
Rob, come on listen to Keith Olberman. He has all the facts also. Rachel Maddow. Only facts, all the time.
The "spin" is the context in which facts are presented. It also has a lot to do with what is being left out.
What are you afraid of in a "PUblic Option"? Do you really think that "Death Panels" will be a reality right now? You do understand that no matter what happens we already have old people who die quicker because they cannot afford the same quality of health care as a Ted Kennedy. We also have millions of uninsured.
What do you suggest?
Maybe some night we should sit and watch one of these comedy shows together. Beck, Limbaugh, Olberman, Maddow, whatever and really see what we are all being screwed over.
You do agree that these people are driving a huge divide into the heart of the country, don't you?
It has recently become my opinion that Democrats, in general, want to help the needy and reach out to people who cannot help themselves. The GOP, on the other hand, seems to want to create an "Every man for himself" environment where the people who have little are dependent on the others to help. This certainly works for me but. Sometimes that does not work so well for some other people.
Prove me wrong.

Many presidents have appointed "czars", going back to FDR. This current president just happens to appoint more than any other so far. The problem is that these officials have powers but no check and balances.
Cabinet members and Judicial choices need to be vetted by Congress to some degree or other, but Congress has no way to check the power of these czars.

Democrats don't want to help the needy. They want to keep people down, so they rely on the government to take care of them, thus keeping democrats in power. It's a big old circle jerk. The GOP does want every man for himself. This country was founded on the basis that people would be free to live how they want and make whatever they want of themselves. They did this to get away from England, which was keeping the people down, which in turn is what is going on today. Don't you see that?tornandfrayed wrote:When did we start to call government officials "Czars"? It is hilarious and only available on FOX!

See Rob we do agree. I also believe that government is keeping the people from achieving what we are capable of.
The difference is that I care deeply about my neighbors and people that cannot do for themselves. If we don't take care of them what is the option?
On the other hand, I am self employed, my kids are home schooled and I don't like Black Label Society. Do I not qualify as living my life the way I want?
Even with public schools, library's, and medicare I still do what I want.
Next....
On the czar topic....
I just though ti was funny that I never heard this term until just recently in respect to political appointments in the US. Is it true that GWB never had anyone that qualifies as a czar?

Re: Rob
We just see things a bit differently, I just want to know where it's going to stop. We already have enough programs to help the "needy" the problem is they don't want to help themselves. How many more government tax dollars and programs is it going to take before people realize that it's up to the individual to go out and do something with their life. Sitting around and waiting on the government check isn't doing anything for anyone. It's just enough to live off of and buy you're weekly alcohol. Is that really help?tornandfrayed wrote:See Rob we do agree. I also believe that government is keeping the people from achieving what we are capable of.

No doubt. This guy takes "wing nut" to a whole other level.

What the hell are you talking about ? 2. The only difference is they will be against anything Obama if for. If Obama said lets leave Medicare alone, Steel would say we need to cut Medicare spending. No doubt in my mind about that.
EDIT: Rob, what exactly is different in 2009 that would cause Steel to be against Medicare cuts ? I need to understand that one ?
2009 is different, because since about 2007 we've been spending and spending and spending out of control! Now we have a president that spends even more, with no plan of being able to pay for the spending. And wants to pass a health care bill that he hasn't even read, or knows very little about. That's what is different.

Clinton left Bush surlpus, he left that fact out.
The deficit increased THE MOST under Reagan, Bush and Bush. He left that out. I guess it was OK to borrow from China under the liberal Republicans.
He forgot to mention that taxes were cut to the rich which led to less money going in to the treasury.
He forgot to mention that because of said tax cuts and an unjust war ans a lack of oversight, and too much deregulation, Bush left Obama with us as close to a depression we've been in since 1929.
He forgot to mention that Bush knew that the American Auto industry was near collapse and told his cohorts that he would DO NOTHING about it and leave the problem for Obama.
He forgot to mention that Obama had to spend to save the collapse of the banking industry and wall street. He forgot to mention that this fast acting President saved us from a depression. A major depression.
He forgot to mention the DOW is up about 1200 points since Obama.
I can go on...
Rob, please watch more than Fox and learn something. Please!
BTW...that was way too easy.

Does it
Does it matter if you are a sheep whether you follow Beck or Olberman?
Please answer that.
The czar thing is simple. I never heard anyone in the Bush Whitehouse refereed to as a czar. Did you?
Really though do you see how this divides people? Please answer yes or no.
Why does one side have a right to be right when all the facts point to each side being in the right...
Right?

no.
I've learned Bush was just another progressive Republican, trying to fix problems with government.
The 912 project IS uniting Americans (no R/D/Ind badge, please).
Another reason why I like Glenn Beck!

does it end?
Does it end? I don't think so. I like the 912 thing referenced above. I must admit that I had no idea that Glenn Beck was a christian
"I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life."
Where does "Whatever you do for the least of mine, you do for me" fall into this? You cannot be a christian and say that you don't want to help those less fortunate then others.
It does not end, not in this life.
If you believe like Beck does "I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life." Then you know that you are not storing your rewards here on this earth but through your deeds and kindness to others you are building up rewards in Heaven. I believe that, do you?
I wonder if they have 67 LED DLP Tele's up in Heaven and how many points does in take. Right?
Not.....
I guess the ideas are just too diametrically opposed for me to buy into. On one hand "I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life." but on the other hand "I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results." That is opposed to what Jesus taught. Jesus said that it is harder for a rich man to gain entry to heaven ... well you know right?
Explain....
When does it stop? Never... As long as people need help? What you do for the least of mine you do for me.
When does it stop...
"I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
Now are we exchanging ideas or what! Fucking A!

Deja Vu all over again (or...it was worse in 1982)
"Well we're living here in Allentown
And they're closing all the factories down
Out in Bethlehem they're killing time
Filling out forms, Standing in line
Well our fathers fought the Second World War
Spent their weekends on the Jersey Shore
Met our mothers in the USO
Asked them to dance, danced with them slow
And we're living here in Allentown
But the restlessness was handed down
And it's getting very hard to stay
Well we're waiting here in Allentown
For the Pennsylvania we never found
For the promises our teachers gave
If we worked hard, If we behaved
So the graduations hang on the wall
But they never really helped us at all
No they never taught us what was real
Iron and coke, And chromium steel
And we're waiting here in Allentown
But they've taken all the coal from the ground
And the union people crawled away
Every child has a pretty good shot
To get at least as far as their old man got
But something happened on the way to that place
They threw an American flag in our face
Well I'm living here in Allentown
And it's hard to keep a good man down
But I won't be getting up today
And we're living here in Allentown"

Obama didn't help the banks to keep us from going to into a depression. If he would have left them fail we wouldn't be in a depression. Either you lie, or your sources lie. Please confirm which it is ? OR prove it to me !
The white house even released last week that the deficit is up to 12 trillion. That is the democrats way - Spend more to put this country into bankruptcy so the whole USA can be relying on the government to pay their way. Why don't we all become one big socialist country. WE CAN BE THE USSA !!
Look at who this community organizer with his ways of ACORN, which still gets millions of our tax money - Of course they helped Obama as well. All I am waiting for now is the announcement of how much the Black Panthers were paid.

Oh, and bushes national debt grew 4 trillion during his term. Obama's is going to be around 9 trillion -> That is more than any Pres in history ... Of course anyone who supports him and his socialist ways is going to not believe any of it. Then you can look at his polls and see that 3/4 of the country is finally starting to see through his smoke cloud of bs.
