Got a DUI? Forget Canada
Did you know that if you have been convicted of a DUI, you will most likely be stopped from crossing the border to Canada?

My nephew served a few months and is finishing probation now. He had permission from is probation officer to visit for a weekend....but when he attempted to cross over at the Falls, he was denied.

I say RETURN THE FAVOR. Do you realize how many people come down from Canada to vacation now that the dollar is weaker than their own currency. They shut down for weeks at a time for vacation and everyone flocks to the beach resorts and campgrounds. I see it grow every year at the Jersey beaches. My 20 year-old gets a free ride every year because I have to take her along a French-to-English interpretator.

Have a DUI ... Forget Canada
This is a country that cant decided whether it wants to be French or British. So they are either French-Canadian or just Canadian. Figures that Brits and French have to be fighting over something.
They have two it not three official languages - French, English, or mixed French w/Engish that would give you Frenglish

The script was written, and the villian was cast. The provocation needed, they will provide. They did it before, they'll do it again.

One thing I will say about being 'legally drunk' and still able to drive is that (unless this township cop didn't know what he was doing and over-reacted), if you get pulled over, get tested, and blow out ANY alcohol at all even though you are still under the limit you are not in any trouble, but you have to call someone to come and pick you up. This cop would not let us drive away and we were 'legally intoxicated'. I guess thats called zero tolerance.
The thing that gets me is the knowledge that 2 people I know have gotten citations for walking home from a bar drunk...they walked because they felt they shouldn't drive. ?? I feel that would encourage people to drive (when they shouldn't) where they are less conspicuous.
