DC Sniper being executed tonight
Music Rocks!
I loved this. All that just so he can kill his ex-wife for custodyBut Muhammad's ex-wife has said she believes the attacks were a smoke screen for his plan to kill her and regain custody of their three children.

The script was written, and the villian was cast. The provocation needed, they will provide. They did it before, they'll do it again.

I think she masterminded it so that she could get out in public and say something completely fucking stupid...like that.Flaw wrote:I loved this. A smoke screen would be 2 or 3 people, then her. You don't go on a 2 state wide, 10 people thick killing spree if you are setting up a smoke screen, this guy just wanted to murder people and gain something from it. Typical terrorist.

...and he would of gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those meddling kids and the dog.

you know this incident was very interesting, i really do want to watch a documentary on this. he didn't get the justice he deserved, he should of had worse, but this one man but the country on lock down for weeks. i remember the news reports that explained how to pump gas safely, how enter places discreetly, all from one dude. that's just unbelievable.

He was taken down fast. However, I still like the idea of trying them; convicting them; then carrying the sentence out with in 24 hours. They should have taken him straight from the court room to the execution chamber. And lethal injection was too humane for this case, in my opinion of course.

I would rather see them serve a minimum of 5 years in maximum security/hard labor with a concurrent 5 year limit on appeals.f.sciarrillo wrote:He was taken down fast. I like this for three reasons:
1) There are people on death row who are innocent--5 years would give them enough time to bring evidence to correct that situation. There should also be a fast track for re-examining evidence involving capital cases.
2) For the guilty, they will get 5 years of living misery before they are humanely and painlessly put to sleep.
3) Any and all appeals must be presented within 5 years and the sentence would also establish the 5 year maximum security/hard labor incarceration. Some of these people tie up the system with appeals for decades and get special interim incarceration arrangements.
...Oh, the freedom of the day that yielded to no rule or time...
We agree!f.sciarrillo wrote:He was taken down fast. However, I still like the idea of trying them; convicting them; then carrying the sentence out with in 24 hours. They should have taken him straight from the court room to the execution chamber.
Your old man didn't whip your behind a week after you screwed up. Justice should be swift. I think it would be a bigger deterrent. A lot of people ain't afraid to die, but a hell of a lot more would rather not go right now.--->JMS
This guy might've just been an example. However, I do kinda wish his buddy Malvo would've gone too. I'm really amazed at how quickly they put this guy through the system. I was reading about it the other night. It reminded me of everything that was happening around that time, including something that still stands in my mind as highly ironic to this day...
I moved up from Baltimore on Oct. 21 that same year, 2002. That night, we stopped in a rest stop between there and here for a little bit. We all used the restrooms, and grabbed a few snacks to hold us over. We'd done the drive from there to here other times, but that night, we'd decided to hang out at the rest stop a little bit. I remember a couple vehicles there
Fast forward to when they finally caught them, and it was all over the news. It was good news that they finally caught em. So many were breathing a sigh of relief. However, I do recall seeing the rest stop in the news, and hearing about it... And realizing that THAT was the rest stop WE were in! And the vehicle description kinda matched one I saw that night! Heh

You could fast track stuff all you want, but the system is going to choke eventually, it always does... I would say X years from the start of the re-examination.lonewolf wrote:I would rather see them serve a minimum of 5 years in maximum security/hard labor with a concurrent 5 year limit on appeals.f.sciarrillo wrote:He was taken down fast. But in addition to the hard labor they should have to endure what they got convicted for before they die, and their bodies treated similarly after they are dead.

I was trying to be sarcastic about "humanely and painlessly put to sleep". I'm not a big fan of any punishment that doesn't scare the hell out of wannabee criminals.lonewolf wrote:[2) For the guilty, they will get 5 years of living misery before they are humanely and painlessly put to sleep.
We need public hangings, electric bleachers and in some cases, death by vivisection.
