Modern Warfare 2 now rules my life

This game is badass! I can't stop playing when I get some free time (which isn't all that often).

Anyone else?

since you all are playing it...I have to ask your opinion...my 15 year old wants it. He's had other war games before because he's a big war history freak and it has actually helped him with some historical aspects...but I'm not seeing this one fall into that category. Heard some bad reviews on it for younger people....I think he has a good grasp on the difference between reality and fantasy.

would you all recommend it for a 15 year old?

Im not a parent so I might not have great advice but IMO I don't think video games make bad kids. I used to watch the goriest movies, play killing video games, and I would never think of actually doing it in real life.
I hate it when people point the finger at certain lyrics/music genres/video games for psychos going out and killing people. But thats just my opinion. Theres lots of kids that play the same video games and listen to the same music that DON'T go out and kill people, I think in those people's cases theres more.

I have kids that play games, but they know the difference between real & fake. I let them play any game that isn't Grand Theft Auto.

The one level has gotten a lot of controversy, but I won't say anything on here due to spoilers of the game. If you want, I can be more specific in PMs.

if they know the difference between whats real and whats fake. go for it. its hardly worse than the underlying message in most super mario games.

As parent of a 15 yo boy, I have bought other Call of Duty games for him. As well, I think the historic value is great. He understands the difference and we actually have it on lay-away for Christmas. Even though he has been buggin the shit outta my wife and I to get if for him now.
I think it comes down to a personal decision for parents. I have bought him other games that are just as violent ie the Grand Theft games. He has not gone out and started stealing cars and becoming a gang member or dealing in drugs. To him its an outlet. But I think if you have a kid in this age range, you have to talk to them and get their feedback. If they start acting out or anything, take the game from them and give them the afore mentioned Mario Bros.
As far as shrooms go, take two and call me in the morning.
