The skiers gotta love this one, it's all fluffy and light. I was up on Blue Knob painting a chalet interior yesterday, and they hadn't made any snow I could see yet. Today will be great for them, as there's a 3" hard slick, natural base, covered by the poofy stuff. And they usually get way more snow than Altoona. I've seen it snow 3" in Altoona, and 16" up there.--->JMS

I just saw on Weather Channel a report from a woman stranded on the West Virginia turnpike; she showed a picture of stand-still traffic in the snow. She's been on the road since noon yesterday, and, if I heard right, said she's moved 10 miles in 19 hours. Pretty nasty...

It's been a long time since we've gotten this much snow all at once. But at least now we have a chance for a white christmas.

That's what I want. Haven't seen a white Christmas in many years.

Really missed the Weedhawks at Over the Mountain last night. We need to get them in Altoona, and not just a private party. Stupid snow!--->JMS

Last night was the first Saturday night I've stayed home in at least two years. The plow came up and did my hill around 9:30, but doing the math, it would have taken me an additional hour to shovel out my driveway, and then getting showered up to head out...It would have been too late a start to be worthwhile. So I stayed home, chomped at the bit wanting to go out, and ended up doing some writing and "JP's Corner" maintenance here on Rockpage.

I am now shoveled out and operational again...

Well the final total of show that I got was almost 24". It took my son and I all morning to dig out. Then We went to my dads and helped dig him out. that took the rest of the day. I'm glad eveyone stayed home and played it safe lastnight. I know I did.
