Finally!! Something good in my mailbox!!

Post by Trucula »

Two nights ago a yellow envelope was in my mailbox. I opened it and found THE EMBALMED's new CD "What Would Judas Do?"
I had a busy night and placed it in the company truck to rock out my morning ride to work.
Popped it in on the way next morning and WOW!!!!!
I now have a new fav CD!!..I found several songs that just clicked with me right away. Great riffs, and vocal lines..Excellent Job!!!
I have to say this thing RULES!!! Love the guitar work, the drums KICK ASS!!!..The vocals are spot on. So many CD of this style don't make it far with me but this one hasn't came out of the player yet!..This is a MUST HAVE for any collector.
I think this is the first time I could understand every word (sometimes the growling deathmetal is hard for me to make out, BUT NOT THIS ONE!!!)
MAJOR KUDOS to the studio work!!! So professionally done!! The whole package is perfect!! Looks great, sounds great, YOU GUYS SHOULD BE PROUD!!..I can't wait to let the rest of the band hear this!!
This so put me in the mood for work as a supervisor for the day! Thanks Guys!!

GET THIS CD, YOU WON'T BE LET DOWN!!!

Thanks Jason!!! Stickers will also be worn proudly!! HELL UP GUYS!!! Hook up coming soon!!! Raise the Horns!!!!

Yeah these guys kick ass. I have a CD from last year and it is great. Now you have me excited for the new one. Every time they are in town, we have to play, so I haven't had the chance to see them lately. Hopefully soon. B

In my opinion, where The Embalmed really win points is that there's a lot of attention to songwriting and arranagement in their music. A lot of bands in that genre really fail on those two points, even including national acts.

good songs = good cd.

no one can figure out why Pantera, Slipknot and Disturbed are huge and Suicide Silence (whom i like but wear me out sonically) and the ilk aren't- one word-

SONGS.

Pantera writes songs, while most death metal bands write a string of endless riffs. i'm not a big Disturbed fan, but they are much more mature song crafters than the bands that endlessly bash them. i like balance; bands like Morbid Angel, Behemoth and Carcass are super heavy but write memorable hooks that make a memorable listen. i like when a song takes you somewhere emotionally. total blitzkrieg anger gets old quick and leaves me with a vague recollection of nothing when its over.

thx for the kind words guys!!!!

These guys should be signed. Seriously. This is what is wrong with central pa. I've heard so many signed bands in their genre that don't hold a candle to these guys. The right person just needs to hear them.

Yeah! The Embalmed have done one major thing, endlessly... They have combined the art of creating great energetic music, deep. dark-souled music, and throwing very touchy and very keen hooks into their works. They absolutely twist very odd combinations, and in totally relevant ways that REEAALLY make you think, make you wonder, and want to grab the nearest authority figure and take em on a trip to misery!

Thanks again Greg, for getting me my copy! This is DEFINITELY a keeper CD in my collection!

btw Naga- talking about twisted and odd- did you dig the new song "Nine Ring Circus"? that might be the most slanted, corrupt sounding epic thing we have written yet... i think it makes Killjingle uneasy lol...

Truer words were never spoken. I can't wait to get my hands on this CD.

No matter what the genre of music, no matter how talented the players, every SERIOUS songwriter knows:
It's all about the SONG.
Most of the best songs of my writing career (and I'm by no means what I think is really good) have not been written by me so much as written down by me. The song is what it is, I just make it rhyme, and clean it up for consumption. Sometimes that's a struggle, but I still try to stay out of the way, and let the song be what it is.
Kudos to anyone who understands the true relationship between art and artist.--->JMS

The support and feedback from our latest CD has been overwhelming. I too am humbled by the support from our peers.

I wish we would have a product like this 10 years ago when CD's were still being purchased heavily. Connecting with potential buyers is tough in 2010. We are going to continue to pursue the other avenues that will enable us to put this into the hands of as many people as we can.

I too like songsmith wont or cant critique my own songwriting ability, but I do enjoy the fact that ppl dig what we write; and that enables us to continue on and strive to be the very best band that we can be.

We have started writing again for another CD, but it is really in its infant stages at this point.
