How hard is this to use ? I have a computer interface and use audacity at the moment and I'm not pleased with the recording quality.

The APS is a breeze to use. It has its own software mixer and simple routings for FX, midi & recording. You use that to interface to whatever recording software you use. You can route individual channels or a stereo sum mix from the APS. Its a lot easier to use than this Presonus Firebox that I have been wrestling with.

I never used the Cakewalk software much, but its Cakewalk.

USE REAPER!!!!! www.reaper.fm its AMAZING....SERIOUSLY. Grab the manual too, because it needs to atleast be glanced at. Record at 24 bit ALWAYS. Use a software amp simulator unless youre micing a really good cab with a really good mic. Amp sims have increased in awesome-ness by 10 times!! There are some amazing sounding ones. Im even talking about the free ones!!! The new stuff is the shit! I can provide links and walk you through stuff if you want. Just PM me me with any questions you have , and Ill answer them for you!
Btw- the card he is selling seems to be pretty good. i did some looking online. Also, for the lowest latency...its good to use the Asio4all driver. Some unit's drivers are too buggy or have higher latency. The asio4all driver is free and awesome.

To Lonewolf- whats been the issue with your firebox? Im sure I could help you!

No issues now, but it took a bit of wrangling to get the Firebox to work with Samplitude and Powertracks Pro. I think it had more to do with the old software than the new hardware. The cost of a Samplitude upgrade is around $700 and I don't record enough to pay that kind of green for software upgrades.

I think I'll upgrade the Powertracks for raw tracking and just use the Samplitude for mastering.
