These things are driving me nuts! I see them everywhere and want them gone. I think I killed 5 or more tonight alone.

I thought the frosts would have wiped them all out!

A few weeks ago, I toyed with the idea of trying the things out as live fishing bait...but my schedule didn't allow me to get to a river or lake to test them out.

That is a good thought, Jim. There plenty of them at the campus, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding some ..

I always resort to a massive pre-emptive chemical strike at the 1st sign of intruders.

I haven't seen one since I bought a 6-pack of Raid bombs back in September.

we started getting them at the end of the season, i'm seeing them as being a real nussence(sp) and started designing a screened in porch for next year.

one good thing is, at least they're pretty stupid and you can just grab them and throw them outside. imagine if you had to chase them around like a fly!

has anybody squished one? i haven't, just wondering if the smell is as bad as you hear it is.

A stink bug interrupted the end of my second class at the campus this afternoon, when it crawled across a desk of one of my students and freaked her out.

The offending insectoid paid the ultimate price for the intrusion. After class ended, I extricated the bug, carried it to the nearby creek that flows past the Cypress building, and tossed it in the water. After clumsily trying to swim against the current, the stink bug was discovered and quickly devoured by what appeared to be a small sunfish.

This episode demonstrated to me that fish will eat stinkbugs. Since the temperature is supposed to top 60 on Friday, I'm tentatively planning to gather up whatever stinkbugs I can find outside of my house, and take them to one of the local lakes or rivers to see if other fish will enjoy this treat.
