So, most of us know that he quit Dream Theater so he can go play horrible music with Avenged Sevenfold. He is now all butthurt because Dream Theater decided to audition drummers and continue without him. WHAT DID HE EXPECT????!!!! Does he SERIOUSLY think that the guys in DT would put their musical lives on hold for him while he gigs with other bands?
Yeah, that makes sense, not making money or doing anything musical so King Portnoy can go make money with other bands.

He loves to talk about how Dream theater is "his baby", yet he turned his back on them to be a drummer in a crappy trendcore band. He's acting like they are doing something messed up by continuing the band. What a tool.

Im glad DT have found a new drummer. Of course, no one knows who it is yet.
He made his decision, and I hope they never take him back.

I agree!

When I first heard about him leaving, I was crushed. I thought "My favorite band is finished!", but every interview he gave since has made it clear that this is the best for the band. He was always pulling all the strings & he had to have his hand in everything, including directing almost all of their DVDs.

I can't wait to find out who the new guy is! I'll be on Youtube all day when they release his name (if he's someone I'm not already familiar with, that is).

Seriously, I wonder who it will be too. We know they will have to be a stellar drummer.

Dream Theater is definately one of my favorite bands and i couldnt imagine them without him, now i cant imagine them with him. I hope they come back even stronger than ever.

I was watching something yesterday that had Petrucci in it, he said that Portnoy is anal about how things get done with the band. He chose everything from the song list for the concerts to the way the lights blink on stage ..

You have to think about it though. If Portnoy did create it, then he has every right to be that way. Although, allowing the others to have an opinion would be nice as well.
