Nicko rules! However, I think Clive Burr deserves a lot more credit. Other greats imo: Vinnie Paul, Dave Lombardo, Danny Carey, Lars, Mike Bordin, ect ect.....It's hard for me to name only one.

It wasn't until I saw Maiden live on tv recently that I was able to fully appreciate how good Nikko actually is. But here's my list...
Raymond Herrera - Fear Factory
Lars Ulrich - Metallica
Dave Lombardo - Slayer/Grip Inc.
Paul Bostaph - Slayer
Vinnie Paul - Pantera
Matt McDonough - Mudvayne
Igor Cavalera - Sepultura
Scott Travis - Judas Priest/Fight
Nick Menza - Megadeth
Charlie Benante - Anthrax
Joey Jordison - Slipknot
Skinny - Mushroomhead

I vote for Bobby Waters, Kevin Siegal, Rob Bonsell, and quite a few others from the region.

There are lots of good ones...One metal drummer that stood out to me in recent years was Gene Hoglan of Strapping Young Lad; incredibly fast, powerful and precise.

I gotta give props to a young drummer from our area-Cody Kensinger(Samara). He played drums for us when he was 16 in Condemned Existence and then for Assault Method...I gotta say,the kid sure can play, especially on the metal side. Think Chris Adler and Tim Yeung. He def. plays with conviction and takes alot of pride in what he does..
