Drummers - Get - Together ! Last Sunday...
Let's get together. Talk Shop. Play of you want. I ALWAYS learn something and when I leave I can't wait to go home and practice.
I keep running into people asking when the next get together will happen.
So let's make it happen.
Sunday August 21st 2:00 pm, 2nd floor at Ford Music Store, 913 Chestnut Avenue Altoona, PA.

Bobby's playing twice that day. I think Ed is coming. Lee Appleman said he was coming. The Ultra Magnetic drummer said he wanted to come.ToonaRockGuy wrote:Bump. Bobby? Rob? Ed? Guys? I'm pumped! Hitting things with pieces of wood is always a good thing.
I need to call a couple of drummers who don't check this site but wanted to come to the next one.
Even if I'm not a drummer, but would love to learn how to play, can I come? Maybe learn something by observation? When I decided I wanted to learn how to play an instrument, the drums were my first choice, but finances when you're 16 most times don't warrant affording a kit. So I settled with guitar, but I'm wanting to learn drums more and more.
Everyone is welcomed regardless of experience. It's all about sharing.robinhood wrote:Even if I'm not a drummer, but would love to learn how to play, can I come? Maybe learn something by observation? If you missed this you missed a good one. Lee Appleman was demonstrating some nice jazz techniques, and relating his experience on Broadway tours was priceless.
Kevin S. explained some of his double bass technique. If you haven't heard Kevin play with Nail Driver you should. His foot work is very clean.
Kevin also shared some new cymbals from Saluda for us. Lee was impressed, especially with a new dark crash. Sam and I really liked the new mini chinas.
Sam showed up a bit late, but wow, his chops are getting better all the time ! Sam is currently with Saving Jake. Check him / them out !
Sam brought in his refurbished Ludwig Supraphonic snare drum. He had it re-chromed, new black chrome lugs and black chrome rims. What a beautiful snare drum !
Kevin showed us 4 books written by Neal Peart. Kevin, I would like to borrow one of them from you.
Given that there were only 4 of us there it still lasted for 3 hours. I learned a lot as usual! Thanks Guys !
