REPAIR TIPS?

Post by Banned »

So once again I have a small problem with my Digitech RP-10. The output knob took a dive. I was playing it one day, went to turn the knob and BOOM!! No sound.
Does anyone have any quick fix idea's?
Are their any knob alternatives I can use?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

it may not even be the output knob, but if it is, the 1st thing i'd try is getting some real tin/lead solder and reflowing the output knob's whacko environmentalist "green" solder joints.
...Oh, the freedom of the day that yielded to no rule or time...

Hmmm, well it was made in 1994 so that is a strong possibility. I'll give it a look.

Dismantling and resoldering is always a good idea in situations like that, especially since the current solder is almost 2 decades old. However, if you aren't experienced with soldering you mayn't want to try doing it yourself, you could very well make the situation worse (and I'm saying this from personal experience...lol ). Psying someone (like Ken Oiler) to do it would be a better alternative.
