Hey guys...glad you're all digging it! Brad Hawken of Low Key Audio recorded us "live" at Dax's place and we did mixdowns at his place. He did a GREAT job, especially considering our limited time (two evenings of recording and five songs). We definitely want to go back and do a more thorough recording, but these early tracks are a good representation of our live sound.
Two more tracks coming tomorrow and Friday...all building up to our Friday show at 30 Something with Dauntia...hope to see you all there!

You guys are way too kind....and I'm glad you're digging the demo. We're trying to make some time in the near future to do a more polished "actual" album!

Sounds GREAT guys! Lily sounds fantastic. I really like her rhythmic take on Plaster Apparent. She really made the song her own. I think Kent's bass tone is better than it's ever been on an album (including the grim days). You really found a combination you should keep. It's just absolutely excellent. Ron really did a superb job (as always) on drums on these songs. Really cool drum roll before the lead on plaster apparent, too. Roto toms? Sounds awesome. The new tunes are fresh. Dax playing compliments the songs as usual. Just the right amount placed perfectly to balance each tune. They content and balance of the songwriting is very good.
I'm looking forward to hearing more of the old songs redone. I hope you guys do that. It's a waste not to use them (especially the last four that I don't think were ever officially released). People should hear them. Why not a full-length album? You def. have enough material.
Kent, I'm curious. Did you mix the signal from your amp and a direct input? Still using Carvins?

JD,
Glad you're digging the new sound....it has been really cool to mix the old and the new stuff together. Thanks also for the complements on bass tone...it's been pretty much a complete departure for me from the old approach. For this recording, I used bolt-on neck G&L basses (L2000s) through stomp boxes (as opposed to a floor processor) played passive; I'm finding that passive pickups are more responsive and clearer for bass in general. The sound is a combination of direct feed and a mic on my cab. Rig setup was my old Carvin BX1200 head run through a Hartke HyDrive cab with the horn up full and a combination of either Boss or Tech21 chours pedals.
Rest assured that a full-length album is in the works!
