RIP Tim Yingling

Post by lonewolf »

I'm sad to say that one of the area's finest drummers was killed by a car accident in Tyrone.

RIP Tim.

Tim was a great drummer and a good friend. He taught me a lot about how to really groove and to play in the pocket and behind the beat. This is a tragic event. Tim will be missed.

You know what's crazy? I heard he was drunk and killed a girl by vehicle a few years ago, turns out he met the same fate....wish I would have known him, always heard good things about his drumming!

RIP

Here is an Altoona Mirror article about Tim, mentioning both his drumming career and his prior accident:

Never worked with him, but when he was about 16 or 17 I used to go to the Park Ave playground in Tyrone and play basketball with him. I didn't even know that he was a drummer at that time, although I new his brother, Tom, was.
