No Tim, that is my old lady you are thinking of - she is the one who likes carrots. For some reason it has to be at least a half carrot, but she says the bigger the better. I don't get it!!

For the uninitiated, "I like beans" is this forum's defacto statement that a thread has become either boring, off-topic, inflammatory, or simply a political pissing contest. I believe one BadDazeRob came up with that little jewel in the lead-up to the last presidential election.
Of course, the King O' Beans is the soybean. They're good for everything from livestock feed, to inkpen ink, to menopause remedies. Just don't eat 'em...blecch! Have you tried this tofu stuff? Yeah, I know it's really good for you, but the only way I've ever been able to eat it is diced up real tiny in soup. Okay here's where ZappasWife (who's a dietitian) busts my chops. :) ----->JMS

OK, lots of comments...
By way of casual observation, it would appear that byndrsn is the only one among us who does not care for beans...what is wrong with him anyway?
TJ, the transition from beans to music: NICE! And no I'm not interested in your little concert.
Songsmith, that is really true how we have used the saying i like beans, what a random thing to say, yet, relevent. And how can a person not like tofu (and mushrooms I might add) when this is a food with practically no taste? I mean, I can see someone not liking onions, or, lets say pig's feet. These foods are full O' flavor.

WHAT are YOU doing eating bacon? and ground beef? Do you want to die? I know a good dietitian...lets go see Blind Jonny Death tonight! And light beer for you, no cloves for me. :(

Zappaswife may not want to actually read this reply!! I'm just warning you up front!!

No, I don't like beans. Actually, I don't think there are many nastier things (besides maybe tomatoes). And, I must confess that I am a carnivore - I would rather just eat dead animal flesh than pretty much anything else, and if the animal is deep-fat-fried then that is a bonus!!! Unless it is some sort of beef, then I would just rather eat it rare.

I don't eat any fruits or vegitables with the exception of pea soup (about 2 ounzes a year) and corn on the cob - well actually with corn on the cob I mainly just lick off the butter and salt.

Oh yeah, I guess potatoes count, but I really look at them as something that can be deep-fried and then doused with large quantities of butter.

This has been discussed before, and basically the bottom line is this:
I'm not going to create a lot of work and headaches in order to save someone from possibly reading a post about something that they aren't interested in.

Like this one.

Why would you say that - I am almost forty, a little overweight, but not a whole lot - and I just had a Complete physical with all the blood work and everything - I am fine!!! Healthier than a lot of people my age. Cholesterol is great, so are the rest of my vitals. I'm doing what mankind is supposed to be doing - I'm a carnivore - that is what man is.

Now, vegitarianism, those are the people that I worry about, that in my opinion is much more "unhealthy" than my lifestyle.

The butter, well, yeah, that will probably catch up with me. Hell, I like to just go cut off a bit of the stick and eat it as a snack. But, look back at all the old timers that used to eat lard sandwiches. I don't know - I mean, I just sort of eat what my body tells me it wants.

Believe it or not, I partially agree with you. I mean, it depends. When young girls, for instance, say they are vegetarians they usually have an extremely poor diet consisting mainly of doritos, mac & cheese, and soda. Or they are bordering on an eating disorder. If a vegetarian does it right (and if this person is a complete vegan or on a macrobiotic diet this takes a fair amount of knowledge and attention to your diet to be healthy) this can be extremely healthy but like I said can go extremely the other way. I myself believe in a wide variety of food and I love meat and even deep-fried food, and do not hesitate to eat them in moderation. I'm glad you're in good shape byndrsn and hope to meet you at a RP function not in a hospital! I'm in my 40's too, eat lots of crap, drink, and cholesterol is 123. Good genes I guess. At least you don't smoke or drink (think someone is pulling ZW's leg, ouch)!

That's why in High School and Grade School, Bulimia was a girl's best friend. That's why I give props to the Olsen girl for coming out and being a positive roll model for our kids.

They used to stuff them with real beans. I had one when I was a kid that I left outside in the rain. Pretty soon bean sprouts were coing out of the seams. Now they're filled with little styrofoam balls.
