I found out that guitars are played by the same guy (Nile Rodgers) on both songs and he is also a co-writer of the Daft Punk song. That explains the similarity. Daft Punk cite Chic as one of their influences.

they're kind of that guilty pleasure music that I secretly like but don't want to admit to, but I think it's cool that Nile Rodgers is involved with them, he's a talented dude and I have a lot of respect for him
