This has been out for a couple years. I always assumed they would eventually expand it, but they haven't. All you can do is select the color, choose the pickguard, the neck, the pickups, and get a message printed on the nameplate.
So basically if you want a red guitar with a maple neck, a gold pickguard, and custom shop 60s pickups, you could just buy one, switch out the pickguard and pickups, or go to the Fender American Design Experience (r) and pay like 20% more to let Fender do it.
Basically its only for people who don't own screwdrivers.

Couldn't you do something like this years(like 18) ago?
I seem to remember ordering my Fender by filling out a sheet in a custom catalog, choosing what options I wanted, then waiting weeks for it to be built. I got to pick from way more options than this is offering.
