coiled cord mystery

O.K., What in the hell causes the instrument cable to mysteriously coil up when we're playing? Could we actually be going in circles that many times like a dog taking a crap? Any physics majors out there, I would like an explanation, please.

I do that myself, I only turn in one direction ????? You'd never realize this if it weren't for cords, I mainly use a wireless now it fixes that problem but causes many others.

I believe it is the same mysterious scientific theory that if you carefully roll up all your PA speaker cables and put them carefully into a box they somehow intertwine themselves so the next time you take them out they are all a tangled up spaghetti like mess.

Thats why you should tie them all in knots, stuff them in the box, and when you open the box back up, ta-da, neatly wound.

It's better than finding raisens stuck in the out-put bottom of your microphones and cables. That's far more interesting.

The great thing for us is we never know what we will find on our cables at the end of a given night, usually whatever we threw or handed out from the " bag" will ultimately end up in our faces ( on our cables ) at some point , there has been potted meat, marshmallows, bubble liquid, tuna fish, sardines, corn, well you get the idea.
