I saw him on the End Of The World tour in '83 opening for Def Leppard and Fastway... musically, he smoked 'em. No mean feat considering it was the DL's Pyromania tour. It was early on in it, though, so they hadn't yet come up to speed I think. That was a really good concert all around. I actually have a bluegrass gospel song stuck in my head presently.
