Post by RobTheDrummer »

So wierd that monday night football starts at 5:30...I like it! I get to see the game early! It's wierd that it's daylight here and you see the game and it's dark! Used to the other way around!

Anyways, GO STEELERS! Gonna be one tough fuckin game, I'll tell you that much!

Oh and I almost forgot.

The Raiders still haven't scored an offensive touchdown this year!!!

I think he's in a different time zone. I think where he's at is 3 hours behind us.

WOW, we got our asses handed to us! I don't think Ben was ready to play. The Jags Defense definitely earned my respect tonight. They played hungry like the Steelers did in the playoffs last year. Kudos to the Jags, Steelers will get better.

I think it's a no-brainer to sit a guy (Ben) who had a 104F fever that day. They had anticipated giving him IV fluids during halftime. Why even run him out there?

Yeah, he obviously was not ready and they really had no need to rush him. He looked like he looked in the first game against the Colts last year (after a 4 week layoff with the knee)...bad.

he was wasnt ready, and during the 4th quarter he got hurt...what do they do? SEND HIM BACK OUT! that game was pissed away. I didnt like any of the damn play calls and i especially think that ben should not have played.

but thats just me, next week is a whole new week and we'll see if pitt can shake this off.

Great defensive game! Jacksonville definately looks like one of those teams that you may not want to play in the postseason... let's see how they do next week against Indianapolis..

As far as Roethlisberger goes.. hey folks, he wanted to play.. he had been lobbying to Cowher for 2 weeks to play.. should he have played? No probably not.. should Cowher have benched him with a temperature of 104, when he knows your brain boils at 108.. yeah he probably should have.. but he didn't. I dont think you can say Roethlisberger being un-well is why they lost the game, when their running game didnt do shit either. What.. 26 yards? That loss wasnt Roethlisberger's fault, it wasn't Parker's fault.. they just ran into a very very good defense..

Reality check ... this is week two.

Jags brought the house all night ... great showing from their D, as well as from the Pittsburgh D, as always. I think the fact that the teal receivers each had about four to six inches on the Steeler defenders and couldn't find the end zone speaks volumes about the quality of the Pittsburgh secondary.

It'll take Roethlisberger a while to chip the rust off from not playing since February and from his recent health woes, but I, for one, am not worried.

Jacksonville will definitely have to be accounted for in the post season, so long as they figure out how to score touchdowns.

Great field position game.

Word. Any D that stays out on the field for 37:25 and can hold the opponent to only 3 field goals deserves a Snickers. :D

I agree with BadDazeRob, it's still early in the season, and Ben was shaking rust and battling a fever. He should be okay, hopefully he'll be in a lot better form against Cincinnati (he'll have to be).

I'm more concerned about the running game. The Steelers definitely missed the Bus last night; they need a bruising back that can plow through. Hopefully Haynes can grow into that kind of reliable back, I don't think Duce will.

I think the Steelers will be fine, if the offense can get it together quickly. If that defense can keep teams out of the end zone like they did against the Jags, they should win more games than they lose. Holding a team to 9 points usually results in a win.

I'm also concerned about the running game. Pittsburgh, however, just signed Najeh Davenport; hopefully, that will add the power dimension The Steelers lost since Bettis.

I don't know. This is my opinion, but I don't think Batch would've done any better than Roethlisberger. The biggest reason I'm saying that is because Ben shook off some of those Jags and prevented I would say at least 2 sacks.

As much as I've always been behind Batch, when some of my other friends weren't, I don't think he would've been as difficult to bring down. Besides that, plain and simply Jags stopped any kind of Steeler offense. You put anyone out there, the Jags would've stopped them.

Yes, I'm a Jags fan, but I heard this during the game and I can't stop thinking about it. And I'm not being a smart-ass, I'm looking for honest answers. Are the Steelers missing Bettis? Does anyone think that it would've been a different game as far as rushing is concerned if the Bus was in the line-up? I personally think he would've been stopped as well, but I'm just curious to see what everyone else thinks about it.

No, Bettis wouldn't have done much. There were no holes to run because the Steelers proved early they couldn't pass and the run was completely taken away.

It's week two, and in reality, the Steelers weren't going undefeated this year. They are pissed now and it will help them next week for a bigger game. Cincinatti.
