MANOWAR

Post by Baceman Spiff »

I just discovered they're set to release a new album in the spring. Anybody else dig Manowar?

Yes, I have previously listened to them years ago. They remind me of a band called Damian*, which was right around the same time. There was also another band like that called Victory; they were a lot like Racer X.

*I am assuming that this is the correct spelling of this particular band's name.

You're welcome.
If plain and proper English is what you seek, I am the purveyor of such. You're welcome.

I listen to them, they are pretty good. The new cd was supposed to be released last month, but with Karl Logan being injured in a motorcycle accident, they had to push it back.

Speaking of Karl Logan - He is from Pittsburgh :)

Manowar...man, some things never go out of style. I was going to make this a surprise, but I can't hold out any longer: Lies, Inc. is going to begin playing ALL of our shows in fur loincloths and barbarian boots as a tribute to Manowar. Yes, we've waxed every hair off our our Adonis-like bodies and shined ourselves up with baby oil...just for you!

You're welcome.
Always avoid passive clauses, especially when it is not the same tense or mode with the rest of the paragraph:

Yes, I listened to them years ago.

Always avoid passive clauses, especially when it is not the same tense or mode with the rest of the paragraph:
The words "passive clauses" imply that you are speaking in plural. Such being the case, your sentence should read as follows:

Always avoid passive clauses, especially when they are not in the same tense or mode as the rest of the paragraph.

Oh, Captain Grammar! What are we becoming?
