Blatant Self-Promotion for the Drummers!

Post by ToonaRockGuy »

Okay, so I'm excited!! Sue me.

After negotiation and lots of e-mails sent back and forth, I've accepted an offer to become a full-on endorser of Saluda Cymbals! I've played quite a few of them over the past few weeks, and the folks at Saluda are custom-building a set of cymbals to my specifications as we speak! (Or as I post this, LOL!)

I've always been very picky about the gear that I use, especially my cymbals, but I can tell you that these are absolutely no "B-Level" cymbals. I'll put them up against any of the "Big 3" companies' products any day, and I'm very proud and honored that Saluda would offer lil' ol' me a full endorsement! I'll be playing Saluda's Diamond series Rides, Crashes, and Hats, and Saluda Voodoo Brilliant Chinas. The company is a dream to work with, and it could lead to some very exciting things!

I'm hoping to have my new full setup in place by mid-May, so next time you come catch a Scream show, check out the cymbals!

Thanks for indulging me. I'll let y'all know when my bio goes up on the Saluda website, and yes, I will be mentioning some local bands that I've played with and subbed for in the bio. (Gotta have my local music community's back, ya know.)
Dood...

hmmmm, that's interesting. Congrats on the deal!

I personally have a saluda splash cymbal that I would give away, because I haven't ever really used it.

I'll take whatever Bobby gives up when he takes the Zildjians from Kevin...

LOL, thanks for all the congrats, guys. I'll actually be trading in my current cymbals on the new Saludas. The only one I'm keeping is my 1963 Zildjian A Ride, it's very dear to me, and will remain in my posession at my house.

Saluda is a very new company compared to the "big 3", they've only been around for 10 years, and they are just getting started on their endorsement program, so their full endorsement means that I get my new Saludas at a quarter of cost. I'm still forking out some money, but I'm getting a new ride, 4 crashes, hats, and 2 chinas for under $500. can't beat that with a stick. (or can you......?)

Anyway, I'm really excited to get my new instruments, I'll let y'all know when they get done creating them and sending them to me.

The crashes, hats, and rides are from a new not-yet-released series called Saluda Diamond, and they look SWEET. They are 2-tone cymbals, that go from a brilliant gold to brilliant silver finish on the top.

Here's a pic, the logo is incorrect, they are still finalizing the design for it:

They're one of the heaviest cymbals that Saluda makes (along with the new Metal-X Hybrid), and perfect for my playing with Scream. As I go along, I'll also be purchasing a smaller set of thinner cymbals for subbing gigs with other bands that don't need that cutting power.
